Winona Ryder Goes Full Goth in ‘Beetlejuice 2’ Set Photos

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! That’s the magic word for the fans of the age-old gothic franchise that never gets old.

With The Sandman and Wednesday bringing back the dark and twisted stories we love, it’s time to see if the third strike is a hit or a miss with the long-awaited sequel to the 1988 cult classic by Tim Burton.

As Beetlejuice 2 is finally in the works, fans are dying to see some sneak peeks of the creepy set, and the first ones have already revealed Winona Ryder looking as pale and goth as Lydia Deetz.

Luckily, it seems like Lydia hasn’t lost her gothic roots. Even better: she now looks more badass than ever, sporting eyeliner, pale make-up, raven-black hair, and somber clothes that we’re dying to see more of.

In the set photos, we see Lydia in a car, giving the outside world her iconic ‘dirty look’.

In the first movie, Lydia was just a teen, which makes it extra fun to catch up with her as an adult and see the kind of life she leads.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the comeback of Beetlejuice because of the nostalgia trip and its uniqueness even 35 years after its release. The film is the perfect concoction of bold ideas and dark comedy with gothic creatures, over-the-top elements, and a dash of creepiness, making it an ideal recipe for a cult classic!

Beetlejuice 2 will be a spectacle of a movie not only because of its flair but also because it reunites a team whose skills were crucial towards making the original story fly.

It will have Michael Keaton (The Flash), Winona Ryder, and Tim Burton, who will return to his roots after a long time.

Besides Ryder and Keaton, the cast of Beetlejuice 2 also includes Catherine O’Hara, Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux and Willem Dafoe. The script is written by Mike Vukadinovich, who previously wrote Kidding and Rememory.

Beetlejuice 2 is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024. You can get a blast from the past and revisit the first movie by watching the trailer below:
