She-Hulk Episode 7 Ending Explained: Hulk-King Is Ready to Surface

This week’s episode of She-Hulk Attorney at Law may not have seen Daredevil’s cameo, but we saw Emil Blonsky returning for a brief therapy group for Jen to finally come to terms with her two identities as a whole.

But the more exciting turn of events at the end of the episode is the setup to reveal the Hulk King’s identity. In the previous episode, we learned a mystery employer had set the Wrecking Crew on Jen in Episode 3. Known as the Hulk-King, he had initiated a Phase 2 in the episode titled “Just Jen.”

Episode 7, titled “The Retreat,” followed up on Jen dating the sweet Josh from Lulu’s wedding. After their third date and the night after, Josh ghosts Jen, sending the lawyer into a messy tangle of emotions she has been battling since she got her powers.

With Emil Blonsky and other new friends, Jen takes the first step to acknowledging her dual identities as a part of herself after a group therapy session. The latest superhero additions to the MCU show, including El Aguila, Man-Bull, Porcupine, and Saracen, guided her through deleting Josh’s number and freeing herself of the emotional turmoil.

But a flashback takes us to the night Josh and Jen spent together. We see Josh copy Jen’s phone data, click a picture of her naked sleeping self, and send it to Hulk King with a bunch of emojis, noting the blood extraction was successful this time.

The ending sets up the following week’s episode as the perfect opportunity to reveal the identity of the mystery antagonist and his reason for wanting Jen/She-Hulk’s blood.

Fans, divided between two options, have some solid theories, and we’re going to note them down in order of least interesting (and most predictable) to most interesting (and least predictable).

The first theory is the creepy guy who had signaled his interest in She-Hulk’s blood on his date with the superhero in Episode 4. His interest in Jen’s condition and superpowers makes him the more obvious choice, but the following theory will blow minds if it turns out to be true.

The show has made multiple references to the MCU’s 2009 film The Incredible Hulk, the biggest being Blonsky’s cameo. And as we know from Marvel’s panel at SDCC 2022, The Leader is set to return to the MCU. So will She-Hulk: Attorney at Law be the stepping stone for The Leader’s entry into newer MCU projects?
