‘Snyder Cut’ Black-and-white Version Releasing on HBO Max at 12 AM PST

A new trailer for the monochromatic version of Zack Snyder’s Justice League has been dropped, with the director also sharing a sneak peek for it. It’s been just about a week since the debut of the original version of the Warner Bros. movie on HBO Max, but now the black-and-white incarnation is about to hit the screens.

After campaigning for its release for over three years, fans finally got their wish fulfilled when Warner Bros. announced the release of the Snyder Cut to be on March 18, 2021. The four-hour extravaganza depicts Snyder’s original vision, which was tarnished by Joss Whedon, who ordered many reshoots and changed the script considerably for 2017’s Justice League.

Besides incorporating scenes shot from principal photography, Snyder also included Batman’s Knightmare sequence, which shows the return of Jared Leto’s Joker. The development teases what the Justice League sequels would look like, which would focus on Superman becoming evil following Lois Lane’s death.

However, HBO has no plans of moving ahead with the SnyderVerse as of yet. But fans can definitely soon enjoy a different version of Snyder’s Justice League.

Snyder took to his official Vero account to release a new trailer for the black-and-white version of the Snyder Cut. The post also verifies that the new cut will be available on HBO Max for streaming at midnight PST.

The cut has been titled Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Justice is Gray, but it’s still unknown how it will differ from its recent forerunner, other than the monochromatic color palette. Snyder, though, has previously teased that an alternate scene with Jared Leto’s Joker will be featured in the movie.

Renowned for his unique directing style, Snyder has said the black-and-white version of the movie, along with its 4:3 aspect ratio, is his favorite one. That said, to watch the movie or not to watch the movie is completely up to viewers, considering its four-hour runtime. But, longtime fans might not want to skip it, if just to find some hidden gems.
