Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Drops A Day After The Leaked Version

Sony had to act quickly to do some Damage Control when Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer leaked on August 23. The studio released the official teaser trailer just a day after the leak.

If you were one of the select few who decided not to watch the leaked version, you’d be glad to know that it was legit and basically an unfinished version of the official one.

Based on the trailer, the movie takes place after the events of Far From Home, with Mysterio revealing Spider-Man’s identity.

Peter’s life is obviously not the same anymore, so he meets up with Doctor Strange, and a spell-gone-wrong unleashes the multiverse.

(Wong did warn Strange about it!)

There are so many things going on in the teaser that I almost did not want to watch it for fear of spoiling everything before the film comes out. However, the teaser reveals just enough to get you excited without giving away too much about the plot.

The official Spider-Man account had something to say about the leak after the trailer dropped:

As it happens to be, the multiverse has brought some iconic villains to the MCU, including Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, and Electro.

These villains are members of the Sinister Six. The Lizard’s roar can be heard, and fans are speculating that Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, will make an appearance.

Here are the screenshots because those scenes are blink-and-miss:

Now that we have the villains from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man, it would only make sense to have the Spideys as well. However, Sony might keep it a secret till the movie is out in theatres like Marvel did for Endgame and the time travel suits.

Speaking of suits… in two separate shots, Peter can be seen in a black spider-man suit, so is it just an upgrade, or is it another Peter.

Fans were quick to make some interesting theories about the multiverse opening:

Wanda

Loki

Everything is connected

However, the most important question is why is it snowing inside the Sanctum Sanctorum? Why is everything frozen? Is Elsa in the MCU too now?

These burning questions and theories will have to wait till Spider-Man: No Way Home releases in theaters on December 17, 2021.
