Ethan Peck has posted a picture from Canada on his Instagram, and the internet believes he is there to film Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The actor signed on to play the role of a young Captain Spock in the upcoming series, which will be a part of the resurged Star Trek universe on Paramount+. Although no dates have been announced yet, the show is set to premiere soon.
Strange New Worlds is a spin-off of Star Trek: Discovery, and will focus on the crew of the USS Enterprise, ten years before the arrival of James T. Kirk. The vessel will be led by Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and his aides, including Number One (Rebecca Romijn) and a much younger Spock (Ethan Peck).
Peck and Anson Mount had first appeared as their characters in Discovery and had won the hearts of fans, to the extent that everyone wished for the actors to get their own show. Strange New Worlds was announced a while back, and reports suggested that filming had already begun in late 2020 but had to be paused because of the pandemic.
Originally from Los Angeles, the actor’s post about Canada led fans to wonder if he was shooting for the show. When one fan asked the question, Peck replied with a teasing wink emoji. Take a look at it:
Strange New Worlds will join four other Star Trek shows on CBS All Access, now called Paramount+. Season four of Star Trek: Discovery is already in production, and filming has also started for the second seasons of Star Trek: Picard and the animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks. Another animated series, Star Trek: Prodigy will premiere on Nickelodeon in 2021.
It seems like the Star Trek universe on Paramount+ is definitely going to live long and prosper!
