Mariner and Ransom resolve their differences after Ransom resolves the elevator mission when it starts to go out of control. However, Mariner is still on probation. Brad manages to push himself a bit further as he decides to take on K’ranch, only to end up getting speared in the shoulder.
He is relieved, however, that he didn’t end up dead as he initially feared. Will Boimler continue his bold approach?

5. Episode 2 Recap
The team engages in recreational activity by playing “Bat’leths & BIHnuchs” with a virtual Martok as a “dungeon master.” Mariner, however, is grouching due to her minder keeping heavy surveillance on her. Boimler also gets annoyed upon learning of a former Cerritos Ensign’s field promotion.
Tendi remarks that Vendome has a high-risk, high-reward approach, in contrast to Boimler’s meticulous caution, and suggests that he tweak his approach, too. Boimler decides to say yes to everything from now on but it backfires when he agrees to become K’ranch’s prey.
The ship’s assignment of the week is to aid the Dulanians in fixing their orbital lifts. Mariner ends up getting stuck with Ransom, who seems to be more interested in his workouts than the mission. Later, Ransom reveals that he was only pushing her to prove that she would go rogue.

Created by Mike McMahan, Star Trek: Lower Decks is an adult animated science fiction series. It is the ninth Star Trek series that is part of Alex Kurtzman’s expanded Star Trek Universe.
Set in the late 24th Century, the show follows the adventures and missions of “lower deckers” or low ranking officers on one of Starfleet’s least important starships, the USS Cerritos.
The show premiered in August 6, 2020 on CBS All Access. It has been renewed for its fourth season in 2023.
