Due to a sudden change of plans, The Cerritos crew has to singlehandedly handle negotiations with the Karemma. The rendezvous point has been set as DS9 and the Lower Deckers are thrilled to have the opportunity to visit the popular space station.
Meanwhile, Mariner gets roped into visiting Jennifer’s friends and is quickly bored by them. She tries to be nice to them so as to not upset Jennifer. But when disaster strikes, Jennifer tells her that she likes her bossy traits and Mariner jumps into action.

So far, no information has been released by Paramount+ that could hint towards what kind of mission the crew will be assigned next. But it’s certain that the crafty bunch will find a way to overcome any obstacle that comes their way.
News of Tendi’s triumph will also spread across Starfleet as she decides to embrace her roots.
We can also expect to see the focus shift back to Rutherford, as he continues to investigate the conspiracy around his accident.

5. Episode 6 Recap
After the original envoy is reassigned, The Cerritos crew is instructed to conduct Dominion War Trade Negotiations with the Karemma. Freeman expresses her frustration, citing how any other crew would’ve been given months to prepare for such a mission.
Meanwhile, the Lower Deckers are thrilled to have the chance to visit DS9, which is the rendezvous point. Mariner makes fun of them for being excited about a franchise restaurant and declares that she’d rather stay on the ship.
However, upon learning that she’s free, Jennifer convinces her to come and meet her friends. The Cerritos envoy arrives at DS9 and it is revealed that Chief Security Officer Shaxs and Kira Nerys actually have a shared history.
The Karemmas’ initial irritation with the change of plans is quickly placated by the gifts Freeman offers them. However, things take a turn when they take offense to Quark’s association with the Dominion and they launch an attack that causes a power outage at DS9.
Luckily, Tendi saves the day when the Karemmas try to escape after having kidnapped Quark. New conditions are imposed and diplomatic relations between the Karemmas and Starfleet are restored.

Created by Mike McMahan, Star Trek: Lower Decks is an adult animated science fiction series. It is the ninth Star Trek series that is part of Alex Kurtzman’s expanded Star Trek Universe.
Set in the late 24th Century, the show follows the adventures and missions of “lower deckers” or low ranking officers on one of Starfleet’s least important starships, the USS Cerritos.
The show premiered in August 6, 2020 on CBS All Access. It has been renewed for its fourth season in 2023.
