In last week’s episode, Picard’s investigation into the Watcher continues. He realizes this Watcher doesn’t know who Q is yet and is primarily tasked with protecting one of his ancestors named Renee. He realises that Q is posing as Renee’s therapist and his plan might already be underway. The Borg Queen continues playing tricks in order to get control over Jurati’s mind. Rios is finally rescued from ICE by Raffi and Seven of Nine and the squad is reunited.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Episode 6 Speculation
In a shocking twist, it is revealed that when Jurati shot the Queen in order to protect the police officer, she came too close, allowing the Queen to transfer her consciousness into Jurati’s mind. Picard realizes this in the middle of their mission to protect Renee at the astronaut’s gala. How will the squad deal with this added complication?

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
After speaking to Guinan, Picard is finally able to get in touch with the Watcher in this timeline. The Watcher seems to be unfamiliar with Q and tells them their primary task is to protect an astronaut named Renee, who happens to be Picard’s ancestor. As the Watcher shares a recording of Renee, Picard discovers that Q is actually posing as Renee’s therapist—he would try to talk her out of the NASA mission and this is how he would change history to such a drastic extent.
Raffi and Seven of Nine embark upon their rescue mission to save Rios. They intercept ICE transportation carrying Rios and other detainees. In the commotion, they are able to escape. Meanwhile, the Borg Queen makes a call to the local police to lure them to the Picard family vineyard. She threatens Jurati to let her assimilate or that she would do so to the police officer that arrived on the scene. Jurati shoots the Queen and erases the incident from the officer’s memory.
Picard and Watcher realize that it’s absolutely essential they protect Renee before she embarks upon the space mission and that she would be particularly vulnerable at an upcoming gala. The crew is reunited and Picard briefs them on their new mission. Q tells Soong that he needs his help in taking on the Picards. Soong, who is desperate to help his ailing daughter, agrees to Q’s demands because the mysterious substance that Q gave him had miraculously worked and he needs to find a more a permanent cure.
