Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1 Episode 7 Recap
The crew is frustrated that they’re not able to find out more about the Protostar’s previous missions. While they’re distracting themselves with the ship’s teleporter, Janeway tells them they’ve received a distress signal. Dal recognizes the captain of that ship to be Nandi, the commanding officer who raised him.
Nandi offers them the cloaking device in exchange for a crystal. She suggests that they disguise themselves as the Federation when they go to retrieve the crystal from the civilization that has it. Janeway warns them that this is against the guidelines of the Protostar as it would interfere with the development of the civilization. Dal has his hesitations but goes along with the plan.
Once they land on the planet and locate the crystals, they realize that the civilization needs the crystals as a power source and that they’re indispensable. Despite knowing that, Nandi greedily takes them for herself, putting the rest of the team in danger as the structure begins to falls apart. Dal puts his combadge on the crystal so they can beam it back to its home planet.
