Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Episode 5 Recap
Following the recent encounter with the Gorn, the Enterprise undergoes massive repairs after the heavy damage it took as a consequence. Meanwhile, the crew takes some time off to get some much-needed rest and relaxation at Starbase 1. Spock welcomes T’pring aboard for a visit. Much to her dismay, Spock gets called away when a diplomatic envoy makes an unexpected visit.
Christine gives Spock some advice about the hiccups in his romantic life and he decides to take T’pring to a soul-sharing ceremony. The intent of the ceremony was to be able to understand one another on a deeper level but it ends up going awry when the two of them actually end up swapping their physical bodies.
The two of them aren’t sure of how to reverse the effect of the ceremony and to make matters worse, Spock is still needed at the meetings with the envoy. He also learns of a crisis T’pring is facing in her own work-life while he’s in her body, prompting him to seek more advice from Christine. The two of them handle each other’s respective duties while their bodies are switched until they are finally able to go to the sick bay to seek M’Benga’s help to switch back to their bodies.
