Disney’s New Star Wars-themed Hotel to Open March 2022

The inauguration for Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel is only months away: March 1, 2022.

Plan for this fully immersive, one-of-a-kind experience was announced at Disney’s D23 expo back in 2017. Initially slated for 2021, the opening was understandably pushed back to 2022 due to the pandemic.

Now with a fixed date in place, prospective guests can start planning and booking their trips from October 28 onwards.

Disney has also promised special booking opportunities for their VIPs, that is, those holding Disney Passports, Disney Vacation Club members, and Disney Visa Cardholders. They will be personally contacted in the months to come about these offers.

The Galactic Starcruiser

The Galactic Starcruiser is no ordinary hotel stay. Earlier, I had outlined some of its features that were simply out of this world: lightsaber fights, movie-themed cuisines, meet and greets with fan-favorite characters, staying aboard the Halcyon spacecraft, and loads more.

An experience that allows you to be a part of the Star Wars universe and carve out your own unique journeys in it obviously comes with a big hit to the pocket.

Packages are available for two to four guests, between a range of $4,800 to $6000. A two-day, two-night stay is priced at approximately $6,000 for four guests. This does include meals, entry to visit Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and a few of the above-mentioned activities.

You can find more details on the official Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’s booking website.

For some ardent fans, this may be an absolute steal. Yet, it may put off regular fans for whom the experience is simply out of budget.

Disney is certainly going full steam ahead with their Star Wars endeavors. The ambitious Galactic Starcruiser’s premium experience may beat the ranks of other existing attractions like Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Jedi Training, and Millennium – Smuggler’s Run.

On-screen, too, Disney is dedicated to fleshing out more of this universe with their debuting seasons of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor and Season 3 of The Mandalorian, all coming through next year.

All in all, 2022 is shaping up to be a pretty exciting year for Star Wars fans.
