SPOILERS AHEAD! This page contains spoilers from Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch made its big debut yesterday on Disney+. The series, which was first ordered by the streaming service back in July 2020, follows the Bad Batch of cloonetroopers introduced in Season 7 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and is a standalone/ sequel focusing on the group.

Titled “Aftermath”, the show picks up after Palpatine’s deadly Order 66, which saw all Jedi masters being executed. Amongst the commotion, The Bad Batch (Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair and Echo) comes across Omega, a clone similar to them.

Later, when the group is dispatched to execute fugitives from the Empire under the guise of being “insurgents,” they decide to go rogue. However, during their return to Kamino for Omega’s extraction, they are captured, and Crosshair is reprogrammed to go against the others. This causes the rest to flee from the planet without him.

The episode also featured several easter eggs. Significant among them are Crosshair’s black suit which could be a hint that he is the first Death Trooper, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s fight with General Grievous, which confirms the Revenge of the Sith timeline and the appearance of Caleb Dune aka. Kanan Jarrus from another Disney series, Star Wars: Rebels.

Furthermore, Anakin Skywalker makes a brief comeback as Saw Gerrera is recognized to be the man trained by the former. Although Anakin did train Gerrera among other people of Onderon to fight against the oppressive Separatists, it’s upsetting that he ends up subjugating them.

Within a day of the episode’s release on Disney+, IMDb has already rated the show a 9.2. It has amassed positive reviews from fans and critics alike, with Jesse Schdeen of IGN deeming the premiere episode “a worthy successor” of The Clone Wars.

The Bad Batch received much praise on the Twitterati as well, with many sharing their opinions over the show’s excellent pilot. Check them out here:

The story, which picks up after the events of the Clone Wars will see the rogue clonetroopers venturing on dangerous missions following their insurgency against the Galactic Empire. Along the way, the group will also recruit Omega to join their team.

But, as of now, their fate without Crosshair remains dark, especially not knowing what their future holds.
