Star Wars: The Bad Batch S2 E4 Release Date, Recap, and Speculation

Since The Bad Batch is a prequel, we know where the story is headed. We know that the stormtrooper will replace the clones, and the Empire will grow stronger and eviler with time.

In this week’s episode, we see a glimpse of the brutality of the Empire from the eyes of one of its own defenders, Commander Cody. Yes, the fan-favorite character makes a comeback along with Crosshair. The rogue sharpshooter takes on a mission to subdue the rebels of planet Dussex along with Cody.

1. Season 2, Episode 4 Synopsis/Speculation

Crosshair

Let’s begin at the end. The episode ends with Admiral Rampart ordering Crosshair to lead another mission. When Crosshair asks about the whereabouts of Commander Cody, he says that Cody has gone AWOL.

Will Rampart ask Crosshair to track Clone 99 down? That will be a severe juxtaposition of events given their history and what happened in season 1 after Order 66!

Till now, we have seen the Bad Batch and the Galactic Empire as separate entities in separate episodes. Maybe they will face each other off in next week’s fiasco. After all, the Imperial Empire is still looking for Hunter and his team after the heist they pulled off in the season’s pilot.

The final question is, where is Commander Cody? Commander Rampart tells Crosshair that he has gone AWOL towards the end of the episode. We don’t get an explanation, but we can always speculate.

It is clear that Cody stays cynical about the true intentions of the Empire throughout his time in the franchise. The doubtfulness reaches its peak when the Imperial Officer kills the Dessex commander.

The news about Cody could be exciting for the fans as it opens a whole world of possibilities and scope for fan theories. The Bad Batch could finally unite Rex and Cody, and a reconciliation arc with Obi-Wan Kenobi isn’t out of the window either.

Commander Cody will want to redeem himself in the following episodes. If so, then why not team up against the Empire?

Commander Cody

If you were flying your own spaceship and missed today’s episode, then we have you covered!

In this episode, the Empire is in trouble, which is quite a rare sight. The Governor of planet Dessex has taken an Imperial Officer hostage, and she will not let him go until the Empire declares Dessex a free planet.

Crosshair and Commander Cody are sent to negotiate and bring the hostages back. Droids make up most of the episode as they bomb their space shuttle.

We soon discover that the men, led by Cody and Crosshair, are not dead and they run over Dessex’s defenses easily.

Commander Cody starts negotiating with the Dessex Governor, and she agrees after a bit of persuasion. Things go rapidly downhill as the Imperial Officer orders her execution as soon as he is freed. Crosshair shoots her.

Back in the headquarters, Admiral Rampart orders Crosshair to lead another mission. When he asks about Cody’s whereabouts, Rampart replies that Cody is AWOL.

6. About Star Wars: The Bad Batch

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an American animated show created by Dave Filoni for Disney+. It is both a sequel and a spin-off of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The series’ renewal was announced right before season 1’s two-part finale.

The Bad Batch follows the elite and experimental troopers of Clone Force 99 as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone Wars. Choosing to become an independent group of mercenaries the show will see them undertake dangerous missions.
