Disney has announced that Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 will be coming to Disney+ in Spring 2023.
Star Wars: Visions was first released in September 2021 on Disney+. The animated series brought together some of the most well-known anime studios in the world to create new stories for the franchise.
The series was a hit among fans and was especially praised for its creativity, introducing Star Wars to the world of animation and expanding its lore further.
Volume 1 featured a well-known cast of voice actors such as Neil Patrick Harris, Alison Brie, George Takei, and Temuera Morrison.
With Star Wars: Visions, we got a reinvigoration of a galaxy far, far away that had never been explored before. Nine original tales were crafted by different artists and storytellers from all around the world, to add to the Star Wars mythos. With acclaimed anime studios at the helm bringing their own style and flair to the Star Wars lore, every episode told stories from across the galaxy and throughout the history of the expansive universe.
Among these studios were Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill), Science Saru (Devilman Crybaby), Kamikaze Douga (Openings for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), Studio Colorado (A Whisker Away), Kinema Citrus (Made In Abyss), Geno Studio (Golden Kamuy), and Production IG (Haikyu!!).
On the last day of Star Wars Celebration 2022, Disney revealed that the beloved Star Wars: Visions has been renewed for a new season.

Not much information is available on the upcoming season but it is expected to go beyond the limits of anime and use animation styles from around the world.
In addition to animators from Japan, the show will also include animation houses from the US, the UK, South Africa, Chile, Spain, France, and India in the project.
Whether Star Wars: Visions Season 2 will continue the sagas from Volume 1 or introduce new stories to the galaxy is presently unknown. Although there were several episodes such as “The Ninth Jedi” and “The Twins” that had enough setup that they could have a spinoff series of their own, we will have to wait till the release of Volume 2 to find out.
