Stormtrooper Resigns on a Hilarious Note, Read the Resignation Letter

Stormtroopers first appeared in Star Wars: A New Hope. Ever since then have become somewhat of an iconic part of the fictional lore of Star Wars Universe.

Stormtroopers have served Darth Vader and the Emperor without showing any individuality and traces of free will. They were even trained to let go of their real names for a code number they referred to as trooper number.

Recently, a stormtrooper pseudo-wrote a hilarious and satirical resignation letter to resign from their post at the Death Star as it begins to “explode.”

Star Wars Death Star

The letter comes from Washington Post as written by Alexandra Petri. It is a clever entreat to a stormtrooper’s resignation letter, which serves as a commentary on US government officials resigning after the recent US Capitol attack.

The letter is interestingly titled, “I see no choice but to resign from this Death Star as it begins to explode, which is dripping with humor and irony. Take a look at a little snippet from the letter.

“It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of responsibility that I must submit my resignation, effective immediately, from my post on this Death Star. However, I see no other choice. Now is the time for all of us to stand up from our posts and do what is right. It’s been an honor to work on this Death Star. I love the aesthetic,”

“I love how I’ve been able to pursue my greatest passion: destroying planets and pressing buttons. I love my little hat that is a sunshade for no reason! I love the easy-to-access computer interfaces, the blast-door equipped hallways and that one area we can access only by pressing a button to extend a bridge. Our design always made a lot of sense to me! And I love our reliable trash disposal system and the little one-eyed tentacle fella that lives in it. In general, I’m proud of this station and of what we’ve achieved on it, together.”

The stormtrooper also mentions that the one thing that he hates more than the Alderaan population is consequences and not having a job to do.

The letter shows what a stormtrooper would say if they were to follow their conscience and do what needs to be done to take a stand.

Originally, Finn was the first known stormtrooper from the Star Wars trilogy films to show free will and purpose as he decides to follow his conscience instead of his orders whenever he felt that his orders weren’t ethical.

Of course, we don’t know what happened to the stormtrooper with this strong sense of self-preservation and priority.

But one certain thing is that the letter is filled with sarcasm and is the perfect example to show how We can use stormtroopers in real-life settings to emphasize a point.
