The first season of Superman & Lois is coming to HBO Max later this month.
Season 1 of The CW’s hit TV series ended last month with an episode count of 15 episodes. HBO Max subscribers will be able to watch the whole season on the streaming service, starting September 17.
Superman & Lois was renewed for a second season just a month after its premiere. After years of facing supervillains and fighting injustice as the Man of Steel, Superman & Lois takes a different route to show the superhero’s more ‘human’ aspect.
The series follows Clark Kent and Lois Lane as they come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures, and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.
Along with the complications of raising kids, the pair also has to worry about their sons Jonathan and Jordan inheriting their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older.
Superman & Lois is one of the best DC Comics live-action shows in recent times, and almost everyone familiar with the portrayal of the beloved superhero in the comics will agree on this one.
The series is a refreshing (and more comic-accurate) take on the character after years of live-action movies showing him as a morally grey/conflicted character.
Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman & Lois is written by Todd Helbing, who also executive produces it with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns. The series is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
For those who wish to add a hard copy to their collection, Season 1 of Superman & Lois will also be available on DVD & Blu-ray on October 19.
Superman & Lois: The Complete First Season will also contain four special featurettes, Superman: Alien Spirit, Superman and Lois: Legacy of Hope, Never Alone: Heroes and Allies, and the DC FanDome panel for the series.
The DC FanDome virtual event will be held on October 16 at 10 am PT and available for free live stream. The cast and creators of Superman & Lois also have a panel, which might include updates regarding Season 2.
HBO Max has many interesting titles adding to their catalog this month, including all eight movies in the Harry Potter series.
Other DC titled returning include Green Lantern (2011) and the Season 3 Premiere of Doom Patrol on September 23. However, James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad will exit the platform on September 5.
