First Look Promo of Jeremy Renner’s Mayor of Kingstown out Now

Powerhouse writer Taylor Sheridan’s latest creation, Mayor of Kingstown, released its debut trailer on September 1. The show will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+, further making the streaming platform a go-to place for thrilling series.

The highly-anticipated Mayor of Kingstown stars an ensemble of Academy Awards nominees and winners such as Jeremy Renner, Dianne Wiest, and Kyle Chandler. The cast also includes Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, and Tobi Bamtefa.

The first-look trailer introduces fans to the McLusky family and their ways of work, trying to stay afloat in a burned-down city with no law or order. They attempt to bring order and justice to Kingstown, Michigan, while being rooted in the business of the prison system.

The McLusky family, being the city’s power brokers and wanting to stay neutral, doesn’t sit right with many people. The series will document their high-stake lives as they try to navigate and make their own rules and way.

In the trailer, a dialogue referencing Jeremy Renner’s character goes, “Why is he called the Mayor?” “Because he runs the city,” further displaying the power of the McLusky family in the entire city.

Renner and Chandler play brothers, as Wiest essays the role of the matriarch. The trailer also gives an insight into the family’s working ways:

Sheridan, the co-creator of the hit series Yellowstone and writer of Sicario, is known to excel at dark themes. According to the show’s official synopsis on Paramount+, Mayor of Kingstown also tackles “themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality.”

Mayor of Kingstown is a part of Sheridan’s multi-year exclusive deal with Paramount. Upcoming projects such as the prequel of Yellowstone, Yellowstone: 1883, Land Man, and 1666 are also lined up with the screenwriter for release.

Mayor of Kingstown’s first season will consist of 10 episodes and stream exclusively on Paramount+ on November 14.
