Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 9: Release Date, Recap, and Speculation

Earlier in the season, Ted had no romantic aspects, even getting rejected by Sassy at one point. Though he worries Michelle’s Paris trip will end with her getting engaged to their former couple’s therapist, this week’s episode’s ending indicates differently. Maybe Ted has another shot at his failed marriage?

But wait, is Ted Rebecca’s soulmate? The psychic Rebecca saw earlier this season definitely thinks so! Talking about destined partners, Jack doesn’t seem like the right one for Keeley after her private video is leaked. Also, Nate & Jade are an item – though we don’t know if their union is fated for eternity. What’s going to happen next week on Ted Lasso?

1. Episode 9 Synopsis/Speculation

Colin and Isaac’s friendship is tested. Roy is asked to do a press conference.

Yes, that’s all the official synopsis reveals for the next episode of the Apple TV+ series. But as usual, I will speculate what awaits Ted Lasso next week!

Isaac’s reaction was limited after looking at Colin’s phone, but I’m 99.99% sure that the images in his gallery spilled his secret for him to his captain. Judging Isaac’s walk-off, he didn’t seem too happy or supportive of Colin’s preferences, but we’ll have to wait until the following week for an update. Will Isaac out Colin in front of the team?

Speaking of out, that’s what Jack tells Keeley she is regarding their relationship. While their breakup is not official yet, signs point to that since Jack showed her true colors after the sexting video leak.

Although, old flames could be reigniting! Keeley & Jamie’s comfy scene was so sweet, and maybe Keeley will see him in a kind light again after he sincerely apologized and was the one to comfort her without belittling or humiliating her.

And speaking of former flames, Ted and Michelle have been giving that vibe all throughout season 3, despite Jacob and his ex-wife’s affair. Will they rematch? Or does Ted’s green matchbook sighting mean the showrunners are hinting he and Rebecca might become an item?

While I’m on the subject of a new item, congratulations are in order for Nate & Jade! Jade’s comment about his happy side coming out when looking at a photo of Ted, Henry & Beard at the West Ham game suggests the new coach may be close to realizing the true source of his happiness.

Will he ditch Rupert and West Ham to return to AFC Richmond? Or will he continue to put on the mask of Bad Nate?

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 9: Release Date, Recap, and Speculation
Ted & Michelle

Total Football does wonders for AFC Richmond, who are on a four-streak win! While the others are happy, Ted calls in the Diamond Dogs, worried Dr. Jacob will ask Michelle to be his wife on their trip to Paris. Trent joins them and explains he shouldn’t jump to conclusions.

A celebrity scandal pulls in Keeley when her private video is leaked, and she is mortified. Jack prepares a social media message for her girlfriend but portrays it as Keeley’s mistake, and she denies putting it up even for KJPR’s sake.

Ted, Henry, and Beard go to a West Ham game, and we don’t see a bothered Nate but a happy one – though he fakes it for Rupert. Jade and he make their relationship official, and it seems like there’s hope for Good Nate after all.

Isaac asks the team to clear their phones to get ahead of the scandal, but Colin steps out to reminisce before doing so. Isaac follows him and jokingly takes his phone, only to see its contents and walk off with a stoic face. Did Isaac just uncover that Colin is gay?

Jack leaves Keeley, though it’s unclear if it’s for good, and Roy comes over to check on Keeley, but his jealousy gets the better of him. It’s later revealed the leaked video was meant for Jamie, who Keeley hugs in forgiveness when he comes to see if she’s okay.

Michelle comes over to Ted’s to get Henry, and there’s no ring on her finger. When Ted looks at them from the window, he sees Henry ignore Jacob’s fist bump and Michelle denying his kiss. There might be hope for Michelle and Ted after all!

6. About Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso is an American sports-comedy streaming TV series developed by Bill Lawrence, Jason Sudeikis, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt. It’s based on a character of the same name that Sudeikis first portrayed in a series of promos for NBC Sports’ coverage of the Premier League.

It follows the life of Ted Lasso, a coach of college-level American football who is unexpectedly recruited to coach an English Premier League team, AFC Richmond, despite having no experience at all in association football.

It stars Sudeikis as the titular character, Ted Lasso, joined by Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, and Sarah Niles among many others.
