Teen Wolf Movie’s Creator Discusses Allison’s Return to The Franchise

Jeff Davis, the creator of Teen Wolf: The Movie, provided some interesting insights on how Allison Argent (Crystal Reed) could return to life.

Teen Wolf: The Movie follows the events of the Teen Wolf series. The series features Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) as a teenager bitten by a werewolf. As the fans would remember, Allison was killed in the Teen Wolf series while trying to save his boyfriend Scott from the Nogitsune.

However, the movie trailer shows Allison all hale and hearty, much to the fans’ surprise. In the series, Allison’s death was a catastrophic event for the pack, and her resurrection could change the character arcs of everyone in the franchise.

In a recent interview with SFX Magazine (via CBR), Jeff Davis addressed the reappearance of Allison in the film. He explained that she would first appear in the visions experienced by the characters, which would lead them to start questioning the reality of their visions. Check out what Davis had to say about it:

What brings them back is incited by Chris Argent [JR Bourne], who has been having these mysterious visions and dreams of his daughter, Allison. There’s the idea that his daughter might never have actually crossed over when she died. He finds out that Scott is experiencing the same thing, too. Scott has been seeing her in his mind, in his dreams, and thinking, ‘Are these memories or is this something real?’ And they keep becoming more and more real to him.

What Consequences Could This Resurrection Have?

Alison was one of the most important characters in the Teen Wolf series. So, her sudden death was unanticipated and came as a shock to the fans.

Allison’s death in season 3 made way for Reed to focus on other projects and expand her career. Her death forced the other characters to truly realize the horrors of the supernatural world.

The reappearance of Allison Argent could help ground Teen Wolf: The Movie in the Teen Wolf lore, but that would not necessarily change the movie’s stakes.

We know Dylan O’Brien won’t return as Stiles, so the makers are probably trying to fill the void by bringing Allison Argent back. This will offer the chance to make the movie feel worthwhile, and the fans will be able to connect with it properly.

Also, having Allison return so much later in the series gives the others in the pack a chance to see how far they have come since she was gone way back in the franchise’s timeline.

Talking about timelines, Teen Wolf: The Movie takes place about ten years after the series’ ending. So, the world is now fully aware of the existence of werewolves and banshees, and the characters will all be very different.

Scott’s position as the pack leader will also be precarious because of Allion’s return. Tyler Posey has already said that Scott will be very different, given that he’s experienced many things since the show’s ending. It will be interesting to see how Allison’s return affects every pack member.

Teen Wolf: The Movie will release on January 26 on Paramount +. So, just a few weeks before all our questions are answered.
