The Conjuring Haunted House In Rhode Island Bought For $1.5 Million

James Wan‘s Conjuring universe has been a great success for Warner Bros. There are three mainline Conjuring films and several spinoffs based on more entities in the same universe such as the haunted Annabelle doll and the demon nun known as Valak.

All of the movies made significant profits for the studio, even if not all were critical hits. The Conjuring, which came out in 2013, is generally regarded as the strongest film in the franchise.

Based on a true story, the first movie focuses on one of Ed and Lorraine Warren‘s most famous cases. The Conjuring is the story of the Perron family, who encounter terrifying events after moving into a farmhouse in Rhode Island in the early 1970s.

While the movie took a lot of creative liberties in portraying the events that occurred in the haunted house, many of them supposedly happened in real life. Unlike the movie, the Warrens didn’t perform an exorcism in real life, and the Perron family continued to live in the house until 1980.

The Wall Street Journal reports that owners Jenn and Cory Heinzen have sold the famous haunted house in Rhode Island, for $1.525 million, 27% above their quoted price.

As paranormal investigators themselves, the Heinzens have operated their business out of the haunted house for the past few years

Although several high-end offers were received after listing the house for $1.2 million, many of the prospective buyers refused to be interviewed. The homeowners ultimately decided to sell The Conjuring house to Jacqueline Nuñez, a Boston based real estate developer.

Nuñez met the Heinzens’ requirements, including continuing to use the house as a business rather than as a residence. The buyer says she does not believe the house is actually possessed by a demon as in The Conjuring.

When asked about her purchase, she says:

This is a very personal purchase for me. When it hit the market, I thought ‘This is a property that enables people to speak to the dead.

Nuñez has partnered with Christine Perron, one of Carolyn and Roger’s five daughters, to allow people to visit the farmhouse and maybe connect with a spirit, stating, “It’s time to make the farmhouse a place of love.”

Fortunately, Nuñez appears to have sincere intentions with her recent purchase, welcoming people who believe in the supernatural rather than trying to take advantage of its notoriety for a quick profit.
