Batman’s Comeback Teased in New Set Photo from ‘The Flash’

A new set photo from The Flash has teased the return of Batman in the upcoming film. Ezra Miller will make his solo feature debut as the titular character in Andy Muschietti’s long-awaited DCEU movie. The film will be an adaptation of the comics’ Flashpoint arc, which sees Barry Allen travel back in time to rescue his mother Nora from dying.

In a recent set photo shared by producer Barbara Muschietti on her Instagram, the presence of Bruce Wayne has been confirmed. Muschietti’s post shows an actor’s chair with Wayne’s name emblazoned on the back. Check out the Instagram post here:

As confirmed before, actors Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will be returning to play the Caped Crusader in the upcoming film. Although Affleck has been seen as Wayne in recent years, Keaton last played Batman in 1992. He will portray a much older version of Wayne, and thus, it’ll be very exciting to see the new changes in his portrayal.

Muschietti’s post comes after her director brother shared a similar image for Barry Allen’s chair from the set. Check out his Instagram post here:

Production is currently underway, with filming having begun in mid-April. The Flash is slated for a November 2022 release and will be an integral part of the DCEU’s future. Some have even speculated that it could be a reset for the franchise, which will help put it on more solid ground after facing the past tumultuous years.

Still, fans are eagerly anticipating first looks from the film featuring the actual characters, and they do not seem to be too far off. 2022 is set to be a big year for DC Films since, in addition to The Flash, other big movies like Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, Aquaman 2, and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam are all scheduled to premiere.

Either way, the film might be the most interesting one considering the sheer number of heroes set to appear and the broader implications the movie could have on the franchise as a whole.

Other than Miller’s Barry Allen, The Flash will also introduce Supergirl, who will be played by Sasha Calle. Kiersey Clemons, too, will be reprising her role as Iris West, following her brief appearance in the Snyder Cut.
