The Flash Teaser Trailer – Will Affleck’s Batman Die In The Film?

This year’s DC FanDome gave fans a whole lot of content to talk about, including the first teaser clip for Andy Muschietti’s The Flash.

It was rumored that the film would get its first full-length trailer at the event, but there wasn’t enough material to make an extended trailer as the film is currently in production. Instead, actor Ezra Miller said that he and Muschietti compiled a few clips to give fans the one-minute teaser.

Even one minute is a gold mine of content for fans to base new theories on, and boy did the clip deliver. It revealed two Barry(s), two Batman(s), Supergirl, and Nora Allen (99.9% sure about this one as we only see her back).

Nora Allen

The Flash’s plot is based on the Flashpoint comic event. In the original timeline, Barry’s mother, Nora, was murdered when he was young, and his father, Henry, was wrongly accused of it. Barry goes back in time and saves his mother and ends up changing the entire timeline where nothing’s the same anymore.

The teaser opens with a voice-over, “Tell me something, you can go anywhere you want, right? Any timeline, any universe… Why do you want to stay to fight and save this one? You change the future, and you change the past.”

Barry walks into a house and touches a lady’s shoulder, whose face we cannot see, and is visibly pale. If our assumptions are correct, it’s his mother in the current timeline after he went back to save her.

We then see two Barrys seemingly working together. Perhaps one from the original universe and another from the new universe. This was predicted by some fans when a person who looked a lot like Miller was spotted on set.

Double Barry(s):

A bloodied bat cowl is seen on the floor, so if this is Ben Affleck’s final outing as Bruce Wayne, will his Dark Knight bite the dust in this film? In the comic, Bruce was killed in the alley instead of his parents, and his father, Thomas Wayne, becomes Batman. Perhaps, Michael Keaton will play Thomas.

Bruce’s suit is being used by the second Barry. A hand is seen spray-painting The Flash logo onto a black suit that Barry 2.0 is seen wearing later in the clip.

This is a call back to something Muschietti hinted at when he posted a picture of the spray-painted logo on Bat-suit to celebrate Batman Day.

Flash Bat-Suit:

The two Barrys walk in the Batcave alongside Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, where the ‘main’ Barry asks (presumably) Keaton’s Batman if he’s in on the plan.

Theclip ends with the second Barry peeling off a cover that the Batmobile is under. However, the visuals cut off before we can see it, and Barry is heard saying, “Holy Sh-.”

The Flash is scheduled to have a theatrical release on November 4, 2022.
