The Flash Season 8 Episode 5 Recap
The episode titled “Armageddon Part 5” begins with Barry and Joe’s reunion. Reverse-Flash attacks CCDP in order to lure out Flash, but Mia Queen arrives on the scene before him and a fight ensues. Barry sees that Thawne is fading and he begs Barry to save him, who then takes him to S.T.A.R labs. Team Flash has a discussion over whether or not they should let Thawne die.
Mia and Caitlin are both on board for letting Thawne die. Despero, too, urges Barry to let Thawne die to prevent another Armageddon from taking place. Joe, however, tries to urge the team to find a way to save him. Thawne tells Barry about how he was humiliated by him in this timeline, and the reason for his anger towards him all along.
Despero gets impatient and takes over Mia’s mind to kill Thawne himself. Another major fight breaks between Despero and Flash as Barry finally comes to terms with Despero’s ruthlessness. Iris helps Mia fight back Despero’s mind control. Barry finds a way to deflect the energy Despero was accumulating to destroy the city back at him.
Back at the lab, Thawne’s powers are taken away which ultimately saves his life and he’s taken into A.R.G.U.S custody. Dahrk gives the time stone to Joe and fades away.
