The Flash Season 8 Episode 8 Recap

In a bar in Central City, a manager burns to death, and traces of dark matter are found by Barry and Chester upon investigation at the scene. Even though the evidence points towards him, Barry has his doubts about Birch committing such a heinous crime, especially since it didn’t match his usual MO.

The Flash

Birch is interrogated and he starts to become increasingly upset at the prospect of more jail time and being taken away from his son. He breaks out of prison transport and approaches the manager who accused him of being the murderer. The manager is later found dead in similar circumstances as the first murder victim. Despite this development, Barry maintains that Birch could not be the murderer.

Barry’s hunch is proven to be right as Chester discovers that the heat signatures between the victims and Birch don’t match. However, by this point, Birch had absorbed too much heat and had started to pull magma from under the city. The Flash dissipates this situation, saving the city. Birch is later reunited with his son.
