The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 5 Recap
Salen has a staff meeting and informs the doctors about the latest patient feedback rating system, in which Shaun ends up having the lowest scores. He’s worried about not being able to communicate effectively and coming across as unempathetic. Shaun and Park treat an elderly Asian man, Mr. Song, who had been a victim of a hate crime. He insists it was an accident but his daughter tells the doctors it was actually a violent attack.
During his treatment for the attack, he is also diagnosed with a brain tumor. However, after learning that the surgery to remove the tumor could result in paralysis on one side, Mr. Song refuses surgery. His daughter initially supports her father’s decision but when his condition worsens, she gives her consent to move forward with the surgery and he recovers without any resulting paralysis.
Lea deletes some of the data of patients referring to Shaun as weird, causing his rating to improve.
