The Mandalorian S3 E5 Speculation: The Ones Who Lived

This week’s episode is shorter compared to the last few, but it builds a compact plot and finishes things nicely. And it’s all about ‘The Foundlings’

An unexpected character enters the series through Grogu’s nostalgia, which speaks volumes about the turn this show will take in the remaining episodes.

Let’s find out!

1. Season 3, Episode 5 Synopsis/Speculation

The Mandalorian S3 E5 Speculation: The Ones Who Lived
Din Djarin and Grogu

Kelleran Beq makes a grand entry in this week’s episode through Grogu’s flashbacks. Fans are surely aware that Grogu was one of the few survivors of Order 66 along with Beq.

The flashback answers some long-standing questions but raises many new ones.

It reveals that Grogu’s survival was a crucial mission. It was so significant that multiple Jedi warriors were willing to sacrifice their lives to protect him.

Despite the increasing casualties, the team has a strategy: to transport Grogu to a Jedi named Kelleran Beq.

The remaining episodes of the season will surely continue treating us with these enlightening flashbacks.

Coming to Bo-Katan, she is suffering from an identity crisis. On one hand, she can’t place herself amongst Din Djarin and the Mandalorian coverts, but she also can’t get the Mythosaur out of her mind.

We are seeing a severe identity conflict within her, and her character development needs to carry on like this. This will add an extra layer of depth to the season.

Although we don’t have any official synopsis of the story, these points sum up what to expect from next week’s episode and why you should feel excited about them!

May the Force be with You!

5. The Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 4 Recap

The Mandalorian S3 E5 Speculation: The Ones Who Lived
Kelleran Beq

In this week’s episode, it is confirmed that, despite the strict code that the Mandalorians live by, they do not consider themselves an exclusive group.

The episode begins with Grogu undergoing training to join the Mandalorian covert, currently taking refuge on a remote desert planet.

The Mandalorians, or at least Din Djarin’s branch, take the task of adopting stray shriek-hawks seriously, suggesting that a foundling is a foundling.

Sticking around the covert comes with some expectations, and the episode opens with more Mandalorians than ever seen in one place training along the shoreline.

These include Ragnar, the young foundling we saw reciting the creed in the season premiere, and, eventually, Grogu.

After one round of dueling with training darts, Ragnar learns he has underestimated Grogu, who is victorious.

Grogu is then left in the hands of the Armorer, who forges a new piece of armor for him.

The episode also includes a flashback to Coruscant, which reveals that Grogu is a survivor of Order 66, the “Kill all Jedi” initiative seen in Revenge of the Sith.

Protecting Grogu is a top priority, one important enough for other Jedi to lay down their lives to save him.
