The Rings of Power Episode 7: Release Date, Recap, and Speculation

The impending battle between the Southlanders and Adar went down in Episode 6. By the end of the episode, Southlanders were celebrating their win and the return of their king (Halbrand).

But their festivities were cut short when Waldreg used the mystery key to erupt Mount Doom, and fire and smoke engulfed the Southlands. Will the Southlands and its armies be able to rise after the destruction that shook them?

1. Episode 7 Synopsis/Speculation

Episode 6 ends on a shocking cliffhanger after revealing that Adar has killed Sauron. The next one will most likely delve into the mystery of Sauron and his whereabouts.

Waldreg had a second chance to unleash the key’s power. Given that Theo still feels the call of its power, viewers have some hope that in Episode 7, the teen will turn the tide for the Southlanders using the key’s power.

With Adar escaping the volcanic eruption and destruction minutes before it razed the Southlands, we can expect him to wreak more havoc and take the reins over the orcs once again in the next episode.

The Southlands’ destruction can only mean that things will get more intense in the upcoming episode. It would explore what word travels to Durin and Elrond and what fate awaits the Harfoots and The Stranger.

The Rings of Power

The Southlanders set a trap at Ostirith, which leads to a heavy loss for the orcs. On the other hand, the humans leave for Hordern to begin the second phase of the battle. Their plans seem to work well, but the orcs take a page from the Southlanders’ book and trick them into killing many of their own.

The orcs attack and almost kill Bronwyn, among others, when Theo hands Adar what he seeks. Adar sends Waldreg to Ostirith with the key while leading Galadriel and Halbrand on a wild goose chase as Numenorian forces join the Southlanders to enslave the orc army.

Adar notes Galadriel’s obsession which may lead her to the darkness in herself, and she almost kills him after he reveals he had killed Sauron. Meanwhile, the armies celebrate their victory, but their revelry suddenly stops when Mount Doom explodes after Waldreg frees the waters of the sea into the tunnels.

The eruption covers the Southlands in a haze of fire and smoke, and Galadriel stands in the path of the destruction and lets the black smoke engulf her whole.
