‘The Suicide Squad’ Lands July 30 Release Date in the UK

The Suicide Squad will be releasing on the big screen in the UK earlier than expected, as the James Gunn movie lands upon a slightly sooner release date.

The movie was originally supposed to arrive in UK cinemas on August 6, but Warner Bros confirmed to Digital Spy that the UK release date has been pushed forward to July 30.

The change in the release date has been made because the movie is due for release on August 6 in the US as well, where it will be released in cinemas and on streaming service HBO Max simultaneously.

The Suicide Squad follows on from 2016’s Suicide Squad with many of the first film’s team of anti-heroes reuniting for more chaos. Margot Robbie returns as Harley Quinn, while Joel Kinnaman will also be reprising his role as Rick Flag. Viola Davis’s Amanda Waller and Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang will also make a comeback.

Besides these, there are a bunch of new additions to the squad as well, including Idris Elba’s Bloodsport, John Cena’s Peacemaker, Peter Capaldi’s The Thinker, and Pete Davidson’s Blackguard.

Sylvester Stallone will lend his voice to King Shark in a brilliant piece of casting, while Guardians of the Galaxy star Sean Gunn is playing Weasel.
