Maggie and Negan Team Up In Final Season Of The Walking Dead

You wouldn’t expect Negan and Maggie to be fighting on the same side. But new images from The Walking Dead Season 11 show you just that!

Although Episode 1 and 2 of the new season is set to premiere on August 22nd and 29th respectively, those who have access to AMC+ get to watch it a week early, that is, starting August 15.

AMC has released a few more pictures from the season, teasing what will happen beyond the first two episodes. Have a look:

The stills come from the vastly unrevealed Episode 3 titled “Hunted”. Going by the name, it may shed light on why Maggie and Negan have to team up, despite their extremely antagonistic past: it was, after all, Negan who killed her husband, Glenn.

Yet, the much-needed confrontation between the two hasn’t happened yet. But I think Episode 3 is about to change that. The images tease a situation where the two are in danger and must work together in order to survive. This won’t mean that Maggie will let go of her revenge, but to upend greater evils, she will have to enter a truce with Negan.

We won’t spoil anything for those of you who don’t have an early pass to the episodes. But as previously revealed, few of Alexandria’s residents go off to Washington DC on a supplies run. Here is where they encounter more of the walking dead, and perhaps where Maggie and Negan get separated from the group.

Meanwhile, here is Daryl and Dog’s picture from Episode 4 “Rendition”. As per the synopsis, he gets captured by the Reapers and taken to their base, where he meets someone he knows. Could this be his girlfriend Leah? She was last seen in Season 10 Episode 18.

The fifth episode is titled On The Inside and will explore the remainder of Negan and Maggie’s journey together. The season’s trailer does tease Maggie’s fate to be a rather fatal one. We would all love to see her escape it, walking alive – but we don’t always get what we want, do we?

About The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is a neo-western horror drama that is based on the comic book series of the same name written by Robert Kirkman. It currently stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and others.

Rick Grimes, a sheriff’s deputy, wakes up from a coma to find that the world has just gone through a zombie apocalypse. He soon realizes that the world is divided into the zombies- the ‘walkers’- and a group of survivors who will do anything to survive.

The recent season, that is season 11, will adapt material from issues #175–193 of the comic book series and focuses on the group’s encounter with the Commonwealth, a large network of communities that has advanced equipment and almost fifty thousand survivors living in their different settlements.
