A new promo clip for This Is Us season 6 episode 5 hints at Rebecca and Miguel’s story evolving, leading up to them falling in love.
Titled Heart and Soul, the episode preview opens with Jack filming Rebecca and young Kate playing the piano as he cheers about “witnessing history in the making.”
It then switches to Rebecca and Miguel a while after Jack’s death as good friends who aren’t involved romantically yet. Miguel tries to set them up for speed dating, to which Rebecca says the idea of 15 dates is bizarre, but Miguel suggests that it’s time.
For long, fans of the show have been wondering how Rebecca and Miguel fell in love. This episode might just be the answer, as previously Mandy Moore had teased that there would be a “catalyst” in helping the two get together.
Jon Huertas recently spoke to TV Insider about their relationship,
I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised and pleased with how the story between Rebecca and Miguel unfolds… I think there’s going to be excitement over what’s possible between these two characters. Rebecca and Miguel’s relationship kind of evolves from just friends, two people mourning the loss of someone they both loved, to sadness, to joy.
As Miguel slowly went from being the villain to someone fans (and The Big Three) started adoring with the way the show progressed, Huertas is certain that the final season will make it clear how strong Rebecca and Miguel’s love is.

In other shots, Kevin and Cassidy hang out together at the cabin, doing the dishes together. Cassidy’s expressions look cautious and don’t reveal anything about how she might be feeling for Kevin.
Lastly, Deja and Malik sit down to have dinner with Beth and Randall. The latter’s suspicious and asks of Malik, “What’s his game?”
The episode synopsis reads, “Malik and Deja share controversial news at dinner,” and there’s no telling what lies ahead as Beth tells the two to speak up about whatever secret they’re hiding.
This Is Us Season 6 Episode 5 is set to air next Tuesday, February 1, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

This Is Us is a Dan Fogelman-created American drama television series that debuted on NBC on September 20, 2016. On October 27, 2020, the fifth season will premiere. It was announced in May 2021 that the sixth season would be the series’ final.
The tv series follows the lives of three siblings, Kevin, Kate, and Randall (nicknamed the “Big Three”), along with their parents, Jack and Rebecca Pearson. It takes place primarily in the current time and employs flashbacks to illustrate their personal past.
Most episodes feature a storyline set in the present (2016–2021) and a storyline set at a particular time in the past; even so, some episodes are set in only one time period or use multiple flashback time periods. Flashbacks frequently centre on Jack and Rebecca in 1980, both before and after the birth of their children, or on the family when the Big Three are still children or adolescents (and played by two sets of younger actors).
