Titans Season 4 Episode 5: Release Date, Recap, and Speculation

We all wanted Deathstroke to return after his debut in season 2 of Titans, but none of us expected his zombie cameo in episode 4 of Titans. The latest episode teased Mother Mayhem’s plan to get Sebastian to Trigon and the prophecy about him and Rachel.

Episode 4 connected Mother Mayhem to Seasons 1 and 2, but will her return this season spell the doom of Titans?

1. Episode 5 Synopsis/Speculation

Mother Mayhem’s magic proves to be superior to even Superboy considering she made him bleed through Deathstroke’s stab. Her connection to Sebastian goes even deeper, but how does Rachel play into it all?

Episode 4 explained Trigon’s connection to the three magic-wielders, but the upcoming episodes will delve into what that means for the Titans.

Connor reflects more on his other father’s fate with each episode, so we expect him to take on more of Lex Luthor’s personality, which was teased in the season 4 sneak peek, soon.

Episode 4 connected the previous season with the events of season 4, so we can expect more past season references.

Mother Mayhem won’t budge till she realizes the prophecy she was put away for, and Sebastian’s role is determined in the rise of Brother Blood.

But Rachel’s significance this season only grows further, and we can expect her to take more center stage in the upcoming episode and henceforth.

Will that mean she’ll regain her powers? Will we finally get an explanation about what exactly the words that Sebastian said mean?

Titans Season 4 Episode 5: Release Date, Recap, and Speculation
Connor’s Secret

Flashbacks to the 90s show how Mother Mayhem was initiated in the Temple of Azarath herself, the same way she plans to recruit Sebastian. Sebastian repeats the words Mother Mayhem asked him to recite, but Rachel stops him from completing them, realizing his connection to Trigon from season 1.

The Titans research connection between the asylum and Mother Mayhem. They uncover her rebirth from there and fairytales involving the sorceress standing against a group of heroes who look a lot like the Titans.

Mother Mayhem was isolated in the asylum after she gave birth to a son instead of the daughter of the prophecy. Season 1’s destruction of the asylum freed her, and she returned to find her son, Sebastian.

Rachel and Sebastian’s matching birthmarks place her as the foretold daughter, and the Titans decide to keep them safe. But zombified asylum employees and an undead Deathstroke imbued with Mother Mayhem’s magic attack the Titans.

They scrape through, but Connor doesn’t return unscathed, he is plagued with bloody vomits with snakes, just like Lex before his death. Connor keeps this as a secret, as Bernard places Sebastian and Rachel in a safe room.
