Tom Cruise Praises the Flash and Says It is ‘Everything You Want in a Movie.’

The upcoming Flash movie is poised to be a significant moment for DC, and superstar Tom Cruise was granted the privilege of getting a sneak peek before its official June release date.

The film stars Ezra Miller as the lead character, Barry Allen, who embarks on a journey across multiple universes and encounters various versions of familiar heroes and villains from previous DCEU installments, along with new characters.

DC has high expectations for The Flash, and Cruise’s favorable opinion of the movie is a promising sign of its success.

THR reported that the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, met with Tom Cruise and praised The Flash. Cruise expressed interest in the highly anticipated DC film and requested to watch it before its release.

Zaslav arranged for an employee to bring the movie to Cruise’s residence for a private screening.

Reportedly, Cruise thoroughly enjoyed The Flash and even called up the movie’s director, Andy Muschietti, to offer his congratulations.

Cruise also commented that The Flash is “everything you want in a movie” and “this is the kind of movie we need now.”

Cruise’s commendation echoes James Gunn’s favorable comments made earlier this year.

The upcoming Flash movie holds a critical responsibility in Gunn and Peter Safran’s vision for the fresh DC Universe.

The movie will not only establish the new DC Universe but also serve as the final act for various beloved aspects of the previous DCEU.

Although Gunn’s comments may have seemed exaggerated, The Flash has the potential to live up to the hype, and Cruise’s remarks are promising.

The film features multiple Batman actors, including Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton reprising their respective versions of the Dark Knight.

Affleck’s role may be limited in the film, as he recently revealed that he only appears for “five minutes” in the movie.

Nonetheless, viewers will undoubtedly be eager to witness what could be his final portrayal of Batman.

Keaton’s return after a 30-year hiatus is a significant event and is expected to expand The Flash’s fan base.

In addition to featuring Miller’s Barry Allen in a different version of the events from Man of Steel, The Flash also brings back Michael Shannon as Zod, the infamous villain from Superman.

This time, Barry Allen finds himself on a separate Earth in 2013, which allows for a comparison between DC’s multiverse and Marvel’s use of this plot device in the MCU.

With The Flash, DC has the potential to offer something unique by delving deeply into alternate universes and introducing compelling new characters, an area that the makers have yet to explore.
