Peaky Blinders S6 Trailer Brings Back Esme but Aunt Polly’s Missing

One last deal to be done, then we Peaky Blinders rest.

BBC dropped the trailer for Peaky Blinders Season 6 on New Year’s Day, and fans can now stop worrying because Tommy is very much alive and has a lot of fight left in him, despite the way Season 5 ended.

Never has a trailer revealed so much and so little at the same time.

For starters, Esme is back, and she looks like a total badass (still miss Johnny boy, though).

However, notably missing from the trailer is the late actress Helen McCrory, who sadly passed last April before she could finish filming her scenes for the season.

There’s a clip that may or may not be Aunt Polly shooting a gun up at the sky. However, it’s quite hard to tell as we don’t get to see her face. Creator Steven Knight had previously said that the final season would pay tribute to the actress.

The trailer gives us very tiny glimpses of all of our favorite characters as we also see Arthur, Alfie, Lizzie, the kids, and Michael (yes, I believe he’s innocent.)

The Billy boys, Gina, and Oswald Mosley are very annoyingly still present. We see news faces, too, including actor Stephen Graham in a mystery role looking gritty.

Although rumors of Rowan Atkinson playing Adolf Hitler in Season 6 were denied, the big banners of Swastika seen in bright red on display can make anyone question if the showmakers just want to hide his involvement for the element of surprise.

The trailer also includes another quote from a previous teaser where Ada is heard saying, “Take a good look, Tom, because one of us is not going to be here for long.”

We know that with Peaky Blinders, nothing is as straightforward as it looks. Tommy always has a master plan, even when it feels like he is up against the ropes. I truly believe the story so far setting up Michael to be the Black Cat is a huge misdirect.

Case in point: Tommy and Michael are only ever fighting when there are people around. Throughout Season 5, they were never alone during their arguments, as if to put on a show, really make it “common knowledge” that the two aren’t getting along in order to rat out the real bad guy.

Speaking of the Black Cat, there were theories floating around that suspected Johnny Dogs too. As I mentioned, the trailer reveals everything and nothing at all, but for a split second, one of the shots looks like Tommy is shooting Johnny Dogs… So, go figure.

Peaky Blinders Season 6 will arrive in early 2022. As we still don’t have the exact date, all we can do is imagine every single possibility. It’s Peaky fookin’ Blinders; anything’s possible.

A tiny not-so-significant detail—Tommy has another dog by his side now. What with Alfie back for the final season, no wonder Cyril would go back to his old dad.
