With more than three decades down, neither Tom Cruise nor Pete Maverick Mitchell have lost their shine. The latest 15-second clip from Top Gun: Maverick is proof of it.

With adrenaline-rushing action scenes sandwiched between sarcastic replies and compliments, the teaser shows how thrilling Cruise’s return as Maverick is.

Top Gun’s return after more than three decades is nothing short of an incredible achievement, and the clip makes it very apparent.

From a trainee then to an instructor now at the same flight academy, Maverick’s charms and talent precede him and that surely has not affected but boosted his daredevil personality.

Cruise’s Captain Maverick is as smug as before, and no one can blame him for it.

In the sequel of the 1986 movie, Joseph Kosinski’s direction has reportedly retained the essence of the lead, striking a perfect balance between nostalgia and a refreshing story.

Offering a rich emotional storyline blended with high-hitting action scenes, the much-awaited movie is already receiving outstanding reviews from critics.

Daily Telegraph’s Robbie Collin commented that the movie was “crammed with images you didn’t know you were desperate to see until the second you see them.”

IndieWire’s David Ehrlich summed up the franchise by saying,

“If Top Gun was a fun film because it invented Tom Cruise, Maverick is a great film because it immortalizes him.”

The world waited with bated breath to see Cruise’s Maverick taking on crazily complex airborne action scenes on the screen again. As per the reviews, all the delays and the wait seem to be worth it.

While the movie, dubbed “a superior sequel” by David Rooney of THR, seems all set to go down in history, the red carpet arrival of Cruise already did. The 59-year-old actor made a grand entry on a helicopter at the Top Gun: Maverick red carpet..

The blockbuster sequel will finally see the light of day on May 27, exclusively in theaters.
