The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors struggling to survive a zombie apocalypse. The series was developed by Frank Darabont and after a successful decade, showrunner Angela Kang and principal director Greg Nicotero are ready to present the final eight episodes of the season to the audience.

The previous season finale left viewers on a major cliff-hanger when cunning Deputy Governor of the Commonwealth, Lance Hornsby, betrayed the group and forced them into hiding.

Hornsby is a shrewd and manipulative man who previously betrayed Governor Pamela Milton’s trust and staged a coup against The Commonwealth. Season 11-part 2 finale saw the fall of Alexandria, Hilltop, and Oceanside as Hornsby carried out his plans.

The survivors are hard pressed, and things seem dire. The only way to get through Hornsby’s reign of terror is to subdue him by taking advantage of his ignorance. Hornsby has never met Negan, and this could prove advantageous for the group as they try to leverage their situation.

The preview ends before all plans are revealed, but it is clear that Negan wants to help the group and can sacrifice himself for the good of others. This would also complete his anti-hero arc, as Daryl is finally trusting Negan, putting him on his path to redemption.

As the show draws to a close, several Walking Dead spin-offs have already been announced to continue the stories of the most beloved characters. It is confirmed that Negan will appear in an upcoming spin-off of The Walking Dead, titled The Walking Dead: Dead City.

However, not everyone will make it out of this saga alive, as season 11 raises the stakes very high for characters such as Maggie, Daryl, Gabriel and Aaron.

The fate of the group and Nagan’s heroic attempt, all unfolds on October 2nd when The Walking Dead returns on AMC.

About The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is a neo-western horror drama that is based on the comic book series of the same name written by Robert Kirkman. It currently stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and others.

Rick Grimes, a sheriff’s deputy, wakes up from a coma to find that the world has just gone through a zombie apocalypse. He soon realizes that the world is divided into the zombies- the ‘walkers’- and a group of survivors who will do anything to survive.

The recent season, that is season 11, will adapt material from issues #175–193 of the comic book series and focuses on the group’s encounter with the Commonwealth, a large network of communities that has advanced equipment and almost fifty thousand survivors living in their different settlements.
