‘WandaVision’ Director Hides Whether Twins Can Live Outside The Hex

WandaVision director Matt Shakman tried to evade questions regarding Billy and Tommy’s survival chances outside The Hex. The twins, who are a new addition to the Marvel franchise, made their debut in the TV show. Also called Wiccan and Speed, they made their debut in episode 4 after Wanda gave birth to them in the previous episode.

As the show progressed, the twins continued to grow, and the child actors who portray them have kept their roles ever since. However, episode 8 brought new surprises as Agatha Harkness captured the twins.

Billy and Tommy, who have also been gifted with superpowers of their own, have teased them around in episodes. However, a newly released Disney image that shows the family prepared for a fight could hint at the complete unleashing of their powers. Even though their origins remain a mystery, they have been associated with Mephisto, although it is still unclear how that narrative will fall into place.

Shakman, who recently gave an interview to Screen Rant, remained reticent when asked about The Hex and its flexibilities to let people in and out. He also added he could not give any further information about the twins’ future until the season finale comes out. However, he did say he’s up for a discussion after the show wraps up.

Episode 8, which finally unveiled the real backstory to Wanda’s powers and current predicament, also disclosed that Vision could likely be a creation of The Hex. Furthermore, his attempt to leave Westview almost tore him apart, due to which Wanda had to expand the boundaries of the border.

Based on that logic, it is hard to say what fate awaits Billy and Tommy outside The Hex. But, as the brothers are the first kids to be born with powers in the MCU, they will be the first to usher in the franchise’s Young Avengers phase.

The show, which comes to an end on March 5, will definitely reveal some answers regarding the twins. As Shakman noted, it would also unveil whether they survive outside the Hex or not.
