‘WandaVision’ Is Currently the Most Popular TV Show in the World

Disney+’s first Marvel Cinematic Universe outing, WandaVision, is the most popular TV show in the world right now, according to Parrot Analytics.

The series, which was released in January, observes Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and her spouse Vision (Paul Bettany) through a series of abnormal shenanigans and disturbing events in the bizarre town of Westview. Outside the town, the agency S.W.O.R.D. is interrogating the anomaly encircling it, also known as “The Hex”, believed to be Wanda’s creation.

Developing through decades of sitcom standards, the genre-bending metaseries delves into Wanda’s worsening mental state and why she’s got the town under her control in the first place.

The series is Disney+’s first television series set in the MCU. The streaming service was released in November 2019, with strategies for new TV shows that draw meaning from a wide range of Disney-owned intellectual property. This comprises the Star Wars universe, National Geographic, High School Musical, the Disney Princesses, and much more. Disney can clearly conclude their MCU streaming series to be a resounding victory.

Parrot Analytics has nominated WandaVision as the most popular TV show in the world. According to Forbes, Parrot Analytics assessed this extraordinary metric “by sifting through social media, fan ratings, and piracy data to represent audience demand.” As inferred from this analysis, WandaVision has become the most in-demand show in the world, ahead of episode 6.

Originally at the 35th place after its first two episodes dropped on January 15th, WandaVision rapidly rose up the charts to seventh place, as fans started to become hooked on to its mysterious narrative. Parrot Analytics communicated specific data that disclosed that WandaVision didn’t begin rising to the top of the heap until episode 3, after which it became the second or third-most in-demand series.

It held the second position by the time episode four came around, and then, when the fifth installment debuted, it was dispatched into the top spot to be crowned the “number one series worldwide.” However, data for this week’s outing has yet to be verified. WandaVision‘s stunning cliffhanger skyrocketed the show to the #1 spot, which it has since held, as per Parrot Analytics’ last accessible data.

That being considered, Disney+’s decision to release one episode of WandaVision every week might also have contributed to the series’ growing popularity. WandaVision also has the benefit of existing within an already ultra-popular universe.

This also stands true for Disney+’s other megahit, The Mandalorian.

There is no hiding the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the most popular movie franchise in the world. Out of the top 25 highest-grossing films of all time, eight are set in the MCU, including the #1 blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame. Considering that Wanda last appeared in that film, it makes sense that the show would enjoy an equal success. With three more weeks of WandaVision ahead, the series stands a good chance of retaining its #1 spot.
