WandaVision Visual Teases Scarlet Witches New Costume

WandaVision will be the first MCU series on the streaming platform. It will also mark the beginning of phase four of the MCU. It is scheduled to release in two weeks on Disney+ Hotstar. And despite the trailers, very little is known about the story of the series.

However, Marvel Studios recently released new individual character posters. They revealed glimpses of their superhero costumes and lives as they move through different sitcom eras.

Characters Wanda Maximoff (Her superhero alter ego is known as Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (played by Paul Bettany) are elevated to leading roles.

In the teaser posters, a bunch of television sets were placed in front of the characters, glimpsing into various aspects of their costumes and scenes.

The characters didn’t receive many modifications from their Avengers appearance, except for Wanda’s Scarlet Witch costume.

Marvel released only small portions of the costume in the poster. But the glimpse was enough to confirm that Scarlet Witch received a costume redesign.

While the new design retained the costume’s scarlet red color, it no longer seems to be the usual corset styled. It had more of an armor feel with the torso area’s glimpses that were revealed on the poster.

The costume seems to be sleeveless. It also appeared to have long scarlet red gloves. But what the fans want to know the most is whether the Scarlet Witch will sport the headgear like in the comics.

The new design seems to be less revealing than her previous costume. Olsen had also expressed her discomfort with the costume because she was the only female with such a revealing costume.

Fans are curious to know what the in-marvel explanation of the costume change will be, though. Maybe Wanda will say how she didn’t like it anyway. Or perhaps she designs it for herself?

Let’s find out together on January 15, 2021.
