SDCC 2022: Unexpected DC Plans Revealed by Warner Bros. Discovery

Warner Bros. Discovery recently announced some unexpected and surprising plans revolving around the DC universe for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The popular event is all set to return to its regular pre-pandemic style from this year.

The Comic-Con is a convention held each year and attended by several fans. Multimedia houses and production houses bring tons of TV shows, movies, and comics to the festival. Due to the pandemic, the event could not be held in person for the last two years.

The event was last held in person in 2019. The event then shifted to virtual mode in 2020 and 2021, owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, Comic-Con is all set to be back in 2022 in its usual mode, with necessary precautions.

Warner Bros. and DC have recently revealed their plans for the San Diego Comic-Con 2022. DC will definitely be present at the event. However, they will not have regular exhibit halls.

According to the plans revealed by Warner Bros. Discovery, two DC shows will be brought to the convention, namely, The Sandman and Harley Quinn. The Sandman will have a massive Hall H panel, while the first two episodes of Harley Quinn Season 3 will be screened at the event.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is also scheduled to screen the world premiere of the upcoming DC animated film, Green Lantern: Beware My Power.

Unfortunately, The Flash, Stargirl 3, and Superman & Lois will not be attending this year’s Comic-Con. Whether DC films at all will be present at Comic-Con is yet to be decided, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, earlier.

Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods are due to release this year, so they may be present at Comic-Con. DC’s 2023 releases, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Blue Beetle, and The Flash will not be a part of the event.

It has just been a few months since the Warner Bros. Discovery merger has been completed. So, the studios might be taking a little more time to take up a financial commitment as big as Comic-Con. DC Films’ plans are still in the stages of being mapped out, so there will definitely be more exciting announcements in the coming weeks.
