The Boys has numerous supes of all kinds and come in all shapes and forms. Like the show’s name, the male superheroes have always been dominant, but a few female supes genuinely stand out. One such character is Queen Maeve.
While she was more prominent in season 1, her significance and arc have diminished quite a bit over the three seasons. In fact, she is perhaps one of the most powerful supes of The Seven, but her powers aren’t always explored to the best extent.
So, in this article, I’ll be explaining the different powers and abilities of Queen Maeve in Amazon Prime’s The Boys. Let’s dive in.
Queen Maeve possesses numerous powers, including superhuman strength, durability, stamina, speed, agility, reflexes and senses. Her abilities include martial arts, superior skills with a sword, and us an incredible markswoman.
Queen Maeve is one of the few supes who truly cares for humans and is redeemable. You almost want to forget her for the wrongs she did because of her efforts towards doing good. Here’s an entire list of her powers and abilities.
In the Prime Video series, Maeve is the second strongest superhero in the world, and the only person who succeeds her is Homelander. In the first scene of The Boys, season 1, episode 1, we see her get in the way of a massive truck to save two kids’ lives.
The truck is literally wrecked and split into two halves because she was standing in the centre. This shows how strong she is. What made her entrance epic was that she walked through the back of the truck unscathed.
In the same scene as above, we see Maeve run along with the wall and jump before the truck. This is just a tiny glimpse of the superhuman speed and agility she has. However, these powers aren’t as potent as the previous ones.
She is pretty cognizant of her surroundings and can sense people and things around her. So, in a sense, she knew that Translucent was in the ladies’ restroom, despite him being completely still. Besides this, in any fight, her reflexes are also enhanced, and it is pretty easy for her to dodge attacks.
Queen Maeve is an expert swordswoman and markswoman. The fact that her signature weapon is a sword reveals this. We’ve seen her train with and combat with it, and it is safe to say that she’s pretty flawless.
Besides this, she is an excellent shot with eyes as sharp as an eagle. In a scene, she throws a pen through a man’s eyeball around 23 metres away. This shows how good her aim is.
Overall, these are Queen Maeve’s powers and abilities. The Boys Season 3 has not seen Maeve in action yet, but hopefully, we’d get to witness her in a battle with the boys and Homelander.
About The Boys
The Boys is an American satirical superhero streaming television series developed by Eric Kripke for Prime Video. Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which was originally published by DC Comics under their Wildstorm imprint before moving to Dynamite Entertainment, it follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities.
The show is a satirical take on the superhero genre and showcases a world where superheroes are corporatized and controlled by companies. What happens when these superheroes step out of line and rub some boys the wrong way, is the story.
