WB Delays DC League of Super-Pets, Black Adam, and More DCEU Releases

Warner Bros. has pushed the release dates for several of the studios’ upcoming movies, including its 2022 slate of DCEU films.

While fans will have to wait just a tad bit longer for DC League of Super-Pets and Black Adam, titles like The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have been shifted to 2023 due to COVID-related post-production delays.

Dwayne Johnson, who stars in the titular role in Black Adam and voices Superman’s pet best friend, Krypto the Super-Dog in DC League of Super-Pets, was the first to announce the two films’ delays via his Instagram.

The animated Super-Pets film has now been delayed by two months to July 29, 2022, which was originally Black Adam’s release date. Whereas Johnson’s debut to the DCEU as Captain Marvel’s greatest nemesis has been pushed back to October 21, 2022, right in time for Halloween.

Shortly after The Rock’s announcement, Warner Bros. released the updates for other changed dates. Jason Momoa’s Aquaman sequel is now set for March 17, 2023, and Ezra Miller’s solo debut with The Flash being pushed back for more than seven months to June 23, 2023.

The only exciting update is for Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The sequel with Zachary Levi and his Shazam Family has been moved up to December 12, 2022, in time for the Holiday season.

Warner Bros.’ Jeff Goldstein stated,

“We’re thrilled to bring ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ to audiences as a Christmas gift this year. Families of all ages will really enjoy it.”
