The Walking Dead has released a sneak peek clip of Season 11’s Episode 3, featuring Maggie being hunted by the Reapers.
In Episode 2, the crew is scavenging the town of Meridian for resources where they get a surprise attack from the undead.
And as usual, Negan does something awful. After all, he did have a chance to help save Maggie and get her to safety with the others on the train… but he doesn’t. Later on, when Maggie manages to make it back to the train, the crew are enlightened about Negan’s actions.
Although the episode concluded with Maggie being back with the crew, in the new clip, she seems to be all alone, once again.
Episode 3 is titled “Hunted,” which is exactly how this clip plays out. Maggie seems to be in a dilapidated parking lot, trying to make her way into the Plaza building. None of her companions are in sight.
She gets across, then tries to pry open the building’s door when a knife is thrown at her. Given the precision and force of that knife attack, it’s safe to say it’s not the undead.
And thankfully, TWD was kind enough to label the clip as “Maggie VS The Reapers”. So, in Episode 3, we can expect Maggie facing off the hostile survivor clan shepherded by Pope.
The rest of the clip shows that Maggie manages to enter the Plaza building before any of the Reapers get to her, but is well aware of being hunted as she takes precautions after entering the building.
The fate of all characters hangs on by a loose string and one of the final season’s burning questions is out of Negan and Maggie, who will make it alive? As Episode 2 shows, neither are entirely moral or kind — which one could blame on their past experiences or the circumstances of their world.
Still, it is too early in the season to say goodbye to Maggie, despite currently being at a disadvantage.
Since the season seems to be broken up into three-four smaller arcs, Maggie’s separation from the group may just be another one of it.
