Who All Dies in the Peaky Blinders Finale? What Happens to the Major Characters?

The Peaky Blinders series finale brought all major characters together for one last time in the show. While some perished, others survived. However, not all characters got the closure that we thought they would.

A few arcs remain incomplete, which could be because the Peaky Blinders movie will continue the story. If you’re wondering who all died in the series finale and what happened to all the major characters, I’ve got the answers you seek.

However, before I begin, here’s a disclaimer. This article consists of spoilers from the Peaky Blinders series finale. If you haven’t watched it, maybe you’d want to skip this one. Alright, let’s start.

1. What happens to Thomas Shelby? Does Tommy die?

Thomas Shelby plots the perfect plan and defeats his enemies except for Jack Nelson and Oswald Mosley. Thomas survives as it is revealed that he does not have tuberculoma.

Thomas was lied to by his personal doctor at the behest of Oswald Mosley. They knew that Thomas would go away from everything and kill himself.

This way, Mosley, Diana, and their band of fascists can propagate their movement without any interruptions.

However, Thomas survives, and perhaps in the Peaky Blinders movie, he will be going after the two. We might also see an appearance from Churchill, who, in reality, was the man who imprisoned Oswald and Diana.

2. What happens to Michael Gray? Does Michael die?

Michael Gray dies while trying to kill off Thomas Shelby. He is shot point-blank by Tommy in his right eye and dies on the spot.

With the help of Jack Nelson’s men, Michael Gray plants a bomb in the boot of a car.

However, Johnny Dogs puts it back in the car of Nelson’s men, and then the ticker blasts. When Michael walks out of the lodge, he is shocked to see Tommy demanding an explanation.

Michael talks about vengeance for Aunt Polly, but the man with no limitations is not interested. He shoots him in the eye, which is the end of Michael Gray.

3. What happens to Arthur Shelby? Does Arthur die?

Arthur Shelby is injured in the crossfire between the IRA but survives. With the help of Uncle Charlie and Jeremiah, he takes down the men of the IRA along with the head, Laura, who had killed Aunt Polly.

This battle was quite gritty, as we wondered what would happen next. In the end, Arthur and the Shelby men come out on top. He tells Laura how Polly was his aunt, and this one is for her. After that, he puts a bullet through Laura’s chest.

We still don’t know if Linda and Arthur will patch up in true terms, but Linda promised Arthur that she’d help Arthur and keep him clean. For now, he is clean.

We still don’t know how he’ll react to Thomas not having tuberculoma. But, there’s a good chance he would join Tommy in his efforts to take down Mosley and Diana’s fascistic movement.

4. What happens to Oswald Mosley? Does Mosley die?

Oswald Mosley does not die in the Peaky Blinders finale. He marries Diana in Germany, where Adolf Hitler, the Fuhrer, is his best man.

Oswald Mosley barely appears in the season finale. He personally gives an invite to Thomas and cautions him that if he looks at Diana after the two are married, he will kill him.

Besides this, his character arc is left at a loose end. However, considering the movie will be set in the World War II period, we might see more of this cold and vicious villain who remains undefeated.

5. What happens to Jack Nelson? Does Jack die?

Jack Nelson is currently alive and does not appear in the Peaky Blinders series finale. We last saw him in episode 5, threatening Billy and ordering him to be his informant.

In the finale, we don’t know what has happened to Jack Nelson. I don’t think he will keep quiet after Tommy annihilated his men. We still don’t know if he’ll be in the Peaky Blinders film because his arc sure does remain incomplete.

6. What happens to Diana? Does Diana die?

Diana does not die. She appears very briefly along with Mosley as she invites Thomas to have sex with him. However, Mosley interrupts, and that’s the last we see of her.

Diana seems to have this weird relationship with Thomas where it almost seems like she wants to have power over him while being Mosley’s lover/informant. She is undoubtedly a character whose mindset eludes us, and it’d be interesting to see her in the movie.

7. What happens to Billy? Does Billy die?

Billy, the bartender, dies as he’s shot point blank by Duke. Billy was the informant who had told where Thomas, Arthur, and the Shelby boys would be. So he had to die.

Thomas came to know somehow that Billy was the mole or the black cat this time.

He corrected the mistake he made in season 5 and leveraged the mole by giving false information to him. The Shelby boys, along with Finn, Billy, and Duke, go to one of Thomas’ properties for a party.

Duke asks Finn to kill Billy and become a faithful Shelby family member. However, Finn fails to do so, and Duke carries out the task.

8. What happens to Finn Shelby? Does Finn die?

Finn survives because Duke lets him go. Despite Finn trying to shoot Duke, he lets him go by banishing him from the Shelby family. Finn swears that he is going to come back for him.

Finn Shelby didn’t die, but he seemed full of vengeance. We don’t know if he will reprise his role in the film, but if he does, it would be interesting to see how his character evolves after this incident.

9. What happens to Duke? Does Duke die?

Duke survives after killing Billy, the mole informing Jack Nelson of Thomas’ whereabouts and plans. As Tommy said, he might most likely take over Thomas’ dark side of the business, which means he would head the illegal part of Shelby limited.

Duke had very minimal screen presence in the show, but he was invited into the family by Thomas as his heir to the business. Although the actor playing Duke mentions that he hopes to be in the film, it’s still not confirmed.

10. What happens to Lizzie? Does Lizzie die?

Lizzie does not die. She merely leaves Thomas because he slept with Diana. Lizzie is absent in the final scene when the complete Shelby family is at the table celebrating Tommy’s victory.

This means that currently, she doesn’t want to do anything with Thomas or the Shelby family. However, after Thomas realizes he’s not dying, he might try and get her back.

11. What happens to Ada Shelby? Does Ada die?

Ada Shelby does not die in Peaky Blinders. Thomas tells Ada that she is the true politician of the family and not himself. So he advises her to fight for a seat if there’s ever a chance.

However, nothing else is said about her character. As for the character’s future, it is still shrouded, as we don’t know what will happen next.
