Here’s Why We Deserve a Crosshair Redemption in S2

The Bad Batch Season 1 left us at a dead end with Crosshair. Now that Season 2 is here, it’s time to figure out what actually happens to Crosshair after the emotional Season 1 finale. He’s got the will-he-won’t he trope going on with The Bad Batch, so we have a lot to expect from Season 2!

Crosshair was originally a part of The Bad Batch and committed himself to the Empire at the very beginning. Ever since his commitment, the rest of The Bad Batch has been forced to outshine the Empire and him, as a result of their fear of what might happen.

By the end of Season 1, we understand that Crosshair is in kind of a dilemma about re-joining the Bad Batch. Though Crosshair wants to be with his brothers, he wants to remain under the Empire. Now, that’s not something Clone Force 99 can trust, can they?

As of now, Crosshair is not a part of The Bad Batch, as he refused to rejoin them in the Season 1 finale. However, it is possible that he might return in Season 2.

Here’s everything you need to know about Crosshair and what happens to him after the Season 1 finale.

1. Does Crosshair rejoin the Bad Batch?

As of writing this article, Crosshair has not rejoined the Bad Batch. The other members request him to come back, but he refuses. Crosshair would rather serve the Empire than rejoin his brothers, at least for now.

In Season 1, Episode 15, the Bad Batch members plead with Crosshair to join them again. At that point, they also felt Crosshair’s inhibitor chip malfunctioning was responsible for his actions. However, Crosshair proves his brothers wrong.

Crosshair

Crosshair had his inhibitor chip already removed, so his supporting the Empire was his own decision. Though Crosshair softens up in Episode 16 and works with his brothers throughout the episode, his kindness does not last.

He helps rescue Omega and AZI from the sea, but after returning to the platform where their ships were kept, he parts ways with the Bad Batch. The members request him to join them once again, but he clearly refuses them. Crosshair would rather sit at Kamino waiting for the Empire to come to his rescue than be with his brothers.

As of now, Crosshair is not a part of the Bad Batch. However, this might change in Season 2. When Omega speaks to him at the end of Season 1, he does seem to be in a dilemma about his decision.

Throughout Episode 16, Crosshair cooperated with his brothers and helped them out. For a long time, we all believed he would return, but unfortunately, it did not happen. But I don’t think all of that kindness was for nothing. Perhaps it will take a little time, but there’s a chance that Crosshair might see the light and return to the Bad Batch.

A Crosshair redemption arc in Season 2 would hit differently!

2. Does Crosshair die in The Bad Batch?

As of now, Crosshair is very much alive. He may or may not die in the future, but nothing can be said as of now.

At the end of Season 1, Episode 15, Hunter shoots Crosshair when he refuses to leave the side of the Empire. However, he survives and is very much alive in the next episode. He even has a heart-to-heart conversation with Hunter, which lets Hunter understand Crosshair’s feelings.

Hunter

Though Crosshair admits that he’s been working for the Empire on his own accord and not because of his inhibitor chip, it is clear that there’s more to the story. For instance, the time when the inhibitor chip was removed from Crosshair is important, even if he claims it isn’t.

Maybe it was necessary to remove the chip via surgery after he got blasted in the face in “Reunion”. If this is the case, Crosshair may have been dealing with compulsory decision-making under the Empire’s forces. Hunter could actually sympathize with Crosshair in this case.

3. Will Crosshair be a part of The Bad Batch Season 2?

Of course. Crosshair is one of the most important characters in the series and will definitely be a part of Season 2. In fact, he will be an integral part of it, because as we said, we might be getting a super cool redemption arc very soon!

Though Crosshair was a villain in Season 1, the makers did tease a redemption arc for him in the Season 1 finale since he seemed hesitant to return to the side of the Empire. As of now, he is not a part of the Bad Batch, but he could be!

In other words, we will surely get a lot of Crosshair in the new season. But if you’re also craving a redemption arc like me, you got to be patient. It can’t happen too soon, as the members of the Bad Batch will need some time to eventually forgive Crosshair.

Moreover, Crosshair will actually have to want to return to the Bad Batch, or else there’s no redemption. Here’s hoping he will finally see the light and come back to his brothers.
