New Loki Variants in E4: It’s Loki’s World and We’re Just Living In It

The God of Mischief can take on many forms and one of them is Alligator Loki… yup, totally normal. The end-credits scene for Episode 4 (The Nexus Event) of the Disney+ series Loki revealed four different variants of Loki.

When our Loki variant is pruned by Ravonna in the end moments of the episode, he wakes up in what seems like a post-apocalyptic New York City.

Loki wonders out loud if he is in Hel (Asgard’s Hell realm). Then a voice says, “Not yet. But you will be unless you come with us.” Now, who else would come to the God’s rescue than he, himself? Besides Alligator Loki, we see Classic Loki, Boastful Loki, and Kid Loki as they arrive to save our variant.

It seems like these variants have been hiding out in an apocalyptic event after the apocalypse has taken place. It’s hard to tell whether they are in the sacred timeline, or perhaps an alternate timeline.

Classic Loki’s costume looked like one of those cases of ‘What you see online vs. What you get.’ But then again, it gave off a very ‘Halloween-in-Westview’ type vibes, maybe he escaped Wanda’s mind control… after all, Loki is a powerful Demigod.

Boastful Loki appeared to be armed with a hammer. Is it Mjolnir? Does that make Loki ‘worthy’? Maybe this Loki variant ended up on the throne of Asgard.

Although Alligator Loki does not appear in the comics, MCU has previously shown Loki’s shapeshifting abilities. Thor once recounts that Loki turned himself into a snake to trick him, so maybe that variant just liked being a deadly reptile or somehow got stuck or cursed into that form. Anything’s possible when it comes to Loki

(Anything except dying, I like to believe that Loki is basically invincible at this point).

Kid Loki’s appearance has fueled the rumors of the Young Avengers assembling even further. Ever since WandaVision dropped, fans have been speculating that MCU is headed towards a new future for the franchise.

Fans were quick to identify the variants and compare them to their comic counterparts.

MCU has been steadily introducing Young Avengers, setting up the next generation of superheroes. These include Wanda’s twins Billy and Tommy, Eli in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Scott’s daughter, Cassie Lang, Hawkeye’s Kate Bishop and America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Saying that the end credits scene was relieving is an understatement. Seeing how I was ready to riot just minutes before when I thought Mobius had died without getting to experience riding a jet-ski. I have high hopes that the season will end with our Loki and Mobius jet-skiing and enjoying a nice vacation, they both deserve a break.

Loki has two more episodes coming out on July 7 and July 14 before the season concludes.
