Post his exit from Billions, Damian Lewis is shooting for a Britbox/Spectrum Originals limited series titled A Spy Among Friends, where he will be starring alongside Guy Pierce. The series will largely be shot in London, so Lewis can also spend time with his kids.
What Is Damian Lewis’s next Project All About?
A Spy Among Friends, created by Alexander Cary, had been in the talks for more than a year before the deals were finalized. The six-episode limited series is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same name written by Ben Macintyre.
The production started in London recently, where most of the series will be filmed, while some parts will be shot in Romania. This means that Lewis will be able to stay in London for most of the time and spend time with his children.
A Spy Among Friends is about the defection of a KGB double agent and British intelligence officer, played by Guy Pierce in the limited series. Damian Lewis plays his friend and colleague who is an M16 officer. The relationship between the two is central to the plot.
According to creator Alexander Cary, the two characters are lifelong friends as well as spies where one was betraying the other all along.

When Will It Release?
A Spy Among Friends is expected to premiere on Britbox in 2022 in the UK and on Spectrum’s On-Demand platform in the US in Fall 2022.
Considering there are no further complications regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, the series should premiere on time. Lewis has already begun shooting in London. Since it is a limited series, work should be completed within time.
