Peaky Blinders Sets Up “Last Orders” for Fans

The two-year plus wait for Peaky Blinders is killing us. But somehow the show has found yet another tactic to keep us strung along. I’m talking about the #LastOrders that was posted by the Peaky Blinders’ official Instagram account on January 31.

I’m sure you’re both surprised and confused. While I’d take any Peaky Blinders content over none, what exactly do these “Last Orders” mean?

Since it is Peaky Blinders’ “last” season, the Last Orders could be a set of challenges for fans to solve and uncover major details about season 6.

But fans are supremely divided about being kept “occupied” like this as they wait for any concrete details for the upcoming season.

Responses have ranged from anger and disappointment (calling this move childish) to renewed anticipation, marking these promotions as fresh.

While both sides are understandable, I don’t think the delay has been deliberate, given the pandemic, late Helen McCrory’s passing and other road bumps.

Time would be better spent in figuring out what the Last Orders could be, and more importantly, what do us fans get back in return. I have a few ideas, so let’s get into it:

What to expect from Peaky Blinders #LastOrders?

The first Last Order will be published on February 2 at 7:30 am GMT on the official Peaky Blinders’ Instagram account. It is expected that there will be a total of four Last Orders, one that will take place every consecutive week.

As teased in the post, the Last Orders could be a set of challenges for the fans to undertake. A few that come to mind are:

  • Hitting a subscriber/following goal on Peaky Blinders’ social media accounts.
  • Getting a Peaky Blinders hashtag trending.
  • Making a view count record on a Peaky Blinders’ YouTube video.
  • Online scavenger hunt/solving a puzzle.
  • Prebooking Peaky Blinders’ movie tickets.

What will the Last Orders challenge reveal? First and foremost, we can expect to find out season 6’s debut date. Other rewards could be a full-length trailer, S6 snippets, behind-the-scenes footage, and other season 6 reveals.

When Will Peaky Blinders S6 Be Released?

As of yet, Peaky Blinders S6’s release is TBA. It is expected to air early-2022, speculation pinning it down for last March onwards. Stay vigilant for Peaky Blinders’ Last Orders, as they may reveal the release date!

While season 6 will be the show’s swansong, The Peaky Blinders’ tale still has one chapter left which will be explored in a movie. Creator Steven Knight has teased that the movie will push past WWII and thus calls S6, “the end of the beginning.”

Could there be more movies, or possibly spin-off shows in the making? Possibly yes, but let’s take one thing at a time.
