Ozark Season 4 Part 1 Ends on a Shocking Cliffhanger

Ozark season 4 is the best season of all, and we can all agree on that. In fact, the number of twists and turns and deaths that we’ve seen in this season are beyond shocking and have left me dumbfounded.

In fact, the ending of season 4, part 1, was gruesome, brutal, and so ruthless that despite all I’ve seen in the show, it left me feeling just a tad bit sorry for all the characters involved.

Before I move on to explain the ending of Ozark season 4, part 1, know that this article contains spoilers, and if you haven’t watched the show yet, do not move on further. I know the urge to scroll but don’t. It’s better you watch it.

Now on to explaining Ozark season 4, part 1 ending, and what it means for season 4, part 2.

Ozark season 4 part 1 ends with the death of Wyatt Langmore and Darlene Snell, who Javi shot. Ruth thinks it was the Byrdes but, Jonah says Javi killed the newly married couple. Besides this, Omar Navarro is arrested by Agent Miller.

Alright, clearly, a lot is going on for all the characters, so I’m going to break it down into simple segments for you to understand.

1. Omar Navarro

Omar Navarro made a deal with the agents, but that did not go through since Agent Miller arrested him. While Omar thought Marty and Wendy Byrde were behind this, Wendy convinced him they were not and actually weren’t.

Agent Miller was so hell-bent on bringing an end to the drug cartel that she decided to arrest Omar despite her senior’s orders.

Although Omar Navarro was convinced it wasn’t the Byrdes, Javi came to know and started beating up Marty for it while Wendy was in prison with Omar. Once again, Marty being Marty convinced Javi that he wasn’t behind this all.

2. Javi Navarro and the Langmores

Wyatt Langmore and Darlene Snell just got married in episode 7, which was a sweet moment amidst bleakness. However, Javi went to their house and shot the two because Darlene’s drug cartel was getting in his way and, he wanted to show who was boss. So he ended up shooting the two of them.

3. Ruth and Her Vengeance

When Ruth came to know about this, she thought it was the Byrdes. On a side note, it’s funny how everyone turns to the Byrdes when something happens because everyone knows how manipulative they can get.

Ruth and Her Vengeance

However, when Ruth approached Marty and Wendy Byrde, Jonah (Marty’s son) ratted out Javi by giving his name.

Ruth is then seen driving on the highway as the credits start rolling.

4. Camila Navarro

Camila is supposed to be Javi’s mother, and she hasn’t been introduced to the show yet. However, The Hollywood Reporter in 2021 said that Camila would make an appearance in season 4. I guess we’ll see her in season 4, part 2. How much impact she has is still unconfirmed.

5. The Byrdes

While the Byrdes seem to be juggling through all the situations and squirreling out of them. However, at the beginning of the season, we see a car crash where the Byrdes might be on their way to Chicago, but we don’t know what happens after.

The Byrdes

Throughout season 4, we see them trying to get back to Chicago before all the money laundering mess and the drug cartel. However, now we don’t know what will happen to them.

6. What will happen in Season 4 Part 2?

Now that you’ve caught up with all the character arcs, let’s get to what could happen in season 4 part 2.

With the introduction of Camila, we might see a huge power shift that we saw at the end of season 1 and the beginning of season 2 between Del Rio and Omar Navarro. So Camila would either support Javi or support Omar, or might just get the two of them killed and become the queen of Ozarks. In fact, we already know that the concept of family is a hoax in the universe of the Ozark show.

When it comes to Ruth, she now knows that Javi was behind the murder of Javi and as we see her driving on the road, there’s a good chance she’s going to get Javi for what he did to Wyatt Langmore, her brother.

I think Omar seems to be a character that will either die in a crossfire or because of Camila’s plotting or just stay in prison. Either way, right now he seems to be a card that is not that relevant.

Finally, coming to the Byrdes and their accident. I don’t think the Byrdes would have a proper happy ending considering the accident. For some reason, I have a theory that one of them would not come out alive, and it would be a bittersweet ending. After all, when have the Byrdes got out of something completely harmless.

7. Conclusion

These are some of the possibilities of season 4 part 2, we still don’t know for sure yet what is going to happen. So I guess all we need to do is wait for part 2 which is likely to release in 2022 itself.
