What to Expect from Billions Season 5 Finale?

Billions Season 5 has perhaps been one of the grittiest and emotionally overwhelming seasons not just for the audience but also for the characters in the show. As the final episode is scheduled to air this week, the fate of Bobby Axelrod seems to be hanging by a thin thread.

With the trio of Chuck, Taylor, and Prince coming so close (and I mean so close) to defeating their common enemy Axe, we are left anticipating what the season’s finale will bring for its audience.

Pretty much each one of us is biting our nails even as we think about it, speculating, wondering, thinking, about nothing else in life except the show. It’s almost as if the show now has this hold over us. I mean, writing such as this has the power to entice and captivate anybody. So what should we expect from Billions Season 5 finale?

The Season 5 finale will showcase whether Bobby Axelrod will finally get arrested and go to jail or will he once again escape the clutches of his enemies. The episode will overall bring closure to prominent storylines of all other characters and maybe set up Season 6.

Here’s a quick recap for those who didn’t pay much attention in the 11th episode of Billions Season 5. Well, congratulations, because you’re in the same category as Bobby Axelrod, who paid even lesser attention to what was happening.

Chuck Jr., Taylor, and Prince joined forces to take down their common nemesis—Bobby Axelrod. Bobby, who has been a few steps ahead of them throughout the season, has little to no idea about the shitstorm coming his way.

Prince gets Axe’s attention by talking to a company to work with them, knowing pretty well that Bobby will swoop in to poach this client, and that’s exactly what happens. Bobby Axelrod intervenes and has a conversation with the company FYC without realizing it’s a trap.

The trap was simple. FYC is a company that deals in cannabis which is currently illegal. Axe’s company would advertise for FYC, which would automatically become illegal since the product is illegal.

Axe was so focused on being an annoyance to his enemies and always getting the better of them, that this time he actually didn’t see any of this coming.

As we see at the end of Season 5 Episode 11, Bobby Axelrod admits he indeed doesn’t know what to do. This could either be a diversion or could mean that Axe is going to face jail time. Episode 12, the finale, promises a tight narrative of how it might all unfold.

The promo showcases him taunting Chuck Jr. while giving a public press conference. On the other hand, people also call out that Axelrod has to surrender. Knowing Bobby Axelrod, I think he might find a way to escape the clutches of the law. This might not be as well thought out as some of the previous instances, where he had plenty of time to plan, but it might just be enough.

Furthermore, the show is returning for the 6th season, and I don’t think it’ll be the same without one of its best characters. So, my best bet is that Bobby might still have a shot at breathing fresh air and leading life as a free man.

Billions Season 5 finale is scheduled to release on October 3, Sunday, and I think it’s going to be a long, long wait till the episode comes out!
