Riverdale Season 6 Midseason Premiere Delayed for Two Weeks

It’s only been a day since The CW finally greeted fans to Riverdale Season 6, but it looks like they will have to wait a bit longer for part two of Season 6 to return.

According to Deadline, The CW Network has pushed back Riverdale’s midseason premiere dates from March 6 to March 20, 2022.

The decision arose after the Critics Choice Awards, postponed due to COVID, finalized its air date as March 13.

Five episodes of Riverdale have already been released, with the show’s premiere in November 2021. The fifth episode marked the 100th milestone episode, opening up a larger, eerier storyline.

If The CW were to go with the previous timeline, viewers would have faced another gap soon after the sixth episode released on March 6.

The midseason premiere’s schedule is shifted to a week after the Awards ceremony to avoid interruptions between the remaining episodes.

Riverdale Season 6 went full-on supernatural mode with more spells, cross-universe travel, horror shenanigans, and everything the drama has made its name for.

When the director teased the Season 6 arrival with the horrifying half-dead-half-alive tree, fans knew they were in for a treat.

Fans finally got a taste of the teenage witch Sabrina in Episode 4 of Season 6, ‘Chapter Ninety-Nine: The Witching Hour(s)’ after being teased and anticipated a lot.

With the ‘Rivervale’ (the alternate Riverdale universe) arc now defined a bit clearer, in the words of Vanessa Morgan, fans can expect “a lot of crazy, cool stuff.”

Meanwhile, the creators giving Archies Comics a significant supernatural shift might go on a bit longer. The show’s very own Betty Cooper, Lili Reinhart, teased in an Instagram Live that they are “hoping for a seventh season.” She also added that it could very well be the last.

For now, there has been no official update on Riverdale Season 7.

Riverdale Season 6 will return for part two on March 20, 2022, on The CW.

About Riverdale

Based on a story from the popular Archies Comics, the 2017 Netflix drama Riverdale is centered on an innocent, small town of the same name.

It follows a group of high school students who are shocked by the death of a classmate, Jason Blossom. Together they unravel the secrets of Riverdale and who killed Jason.

Cole Sprouse’s grungy Jughead is the show’s narrator and school reporter who almost acts like its ‘Gossip Girl’ — documenting the characters’ lives and filling in the blanks for us.
